"Oh, just another school in Britain..." He told Amira. "Well, I'm going to bed. See you all in the morning."
David stood up and gathered his things and headed up to the Boy's Dormitory.

Gavin raised his eyebrows. Not well impressed with the transfer student. "Well, cheers to you both. I'm going to bed," he said and gathered his belongings and went to the boys dorm.

"Night", Amira said as she put away her stuff. No point staying up late if she had a week to do it. She packed up and left for Girl's Dorm.

Effy watched as people in the Common Room began to head up to their Dormitories. She was not yet tired and so she stayed in the Common Room a bit longer.

Julian finally trudged into the common room, kicking off his shoes and collapsing into one of the armchairs. It seemed almost everyone else had gone to bed. It was exactly the kind of atmosphere that he needed at the moment.
He fumbled inside his robes for a piece of parchment, and then took out his quill, before remembering with a sigh that he still needed some ink. Muggle stationary made life so much easier.

Effy looked up as Julian came through the Common Room door, "Hey," she said, simply.

"Hi," he mumbled as he went straight to his armchair, not wanting to face any small talk for the night.
When he discovered that he had no ink, however, he looked back at the girl. "Hey. Effy, right? Would you happen to have any ink?"

"Yeah, here." Effy reached into her bag and pulled out a small bottle of ink and tossed it to Julian.

He almost missed the bottle before his fingers gripped it at the last second. "Thanks," he said, waving the bottle at Effy before opening it and dipping his quill. "You're up late," he commented, although his eyes were focused on the parchment.

Julian set the quill down as soon as he heard her words. He turned around with the hint of a smile. "We could, if you want to."

"C'mon then. We can't leave the castle, thanks to the dementors, but I'm sure we can find something interesting inside the castle itself. Do you fancy a visit to the room of requirement?"

She stood up and followed Julian out of the Common Room.

Amira went down the stairs and into the common room. Since there was nothing else to do she decided to practice. She made herself some hot chocolate.
