Draco tensed at the entrance of others and lost any soft quality about him. Standing, he looked to Pansy, "I'm afraid the hall has gotten too crowded for our business, Pans. Are you hungry or would you like to return to the common room?"

"Oh, I'm alright. I'm just exhausted." She rubbed her eyes before promptly wiping underneath them to clear away the smudged eyeliner. "It happens after I travel." She had picked up a bottle of salad dressing. "And the interruption in my dining routine is already wrecking havoc on me. It's a nightmare." She was rather thin, looking possibly on the borderline of unhealthy but not quite.

"So Elinor," Griffin said reaching for a roll,"how was your day?" He saw that she was looking down the table and looked the same way to see Draco and Pansy talking, a nice looking box sitting on the table. He blushed a little. He hoped that whatever Draco gave Pansy wouldn't show him up too much. He was stupid for only getting Neko those worthless chocolate frogs. He looked over at Lydia. "Well I hope you at least like the food," he said with a smile on his face.

Pansy looked down the table at the others who were talking amongst themselves. "No, not hungry at all. We can leave," she said in almost a whisper. Not knowing what to do and feeling overcrowded, she stood and began walking, hoping Draco would follow her.

Looking away from Draco and Pansy, Elinor said, "Well, it's been quite good so far, I guess. I think I might be starting on my Divination homework later. Though I find Trelawney's style very much familiar to McGonagall's. How about you? How was your day?"

Lydia looked up from her salad and blinked. "Assignments? Already? Oh brilliant, I'm already behind." She looked vaguely annoyed again. "Perhaps I should get to work on them soon..."

Griffin looked away from the other two leaving the table and looked back at Elinor. He sighed, "Oh it was fine. A little rocky at parts but," he smiled lightly, remembering what had happened right before Neko had gone to sleep, "it was pretty good."
He looked at Lydia. "Oh, don't worry too much. Those are just preliminary assignments. The only one's you should do quickly are those assignments that you need to do to be in the class."

"Not to worry, Lydia. Two of them are optional, and they're all really simple."

Elinor smiled, saying to Griffin, "I think Neko and you are absolutely adorable, you know? I'm so glad the both of you got together." Then she took another sip of water. "Does anybody know where Rica has disappeared to, by the way?"

After a nod she sighed. "Perhaps I'll head to the library. I ought to get them finished now. Then I'll not need to worry so much." She had finished her salad. "I'll see you both later then."

Surprised by Lydia's sudden departure, she watched her leave the hall. Elinor sighed. "There goes another chance to get to know each other," she thought.

"Alright Lydia, see you later," Griffin said, digging into a steak. He looked at Elinor and smiled. "Thanks," he said in between bites, "I'm glad too."

"And you did so without that dreaded book of yours," Elinor giggled.

Griffin turned a little red and looked away. "Yeah well, I think that Malfoy is better. That box he gave Pansy looked very expensive." He sighed.

"I don't think Neko cares so much on how much her gifts cost," Elinor said, "but rather on who has given it to her. Draco and Pansy are different, obviously. Did you take her out anywhere today? I mean, it is, after all, St Valentine's Day." Then, realizing her question might have been to personal, she added, "Of course, if you do not want to answer me, it is your wish."
