Pansy laughed. "I think I'll sit right where we belong." She sat down at the Slytherin table looking up at the ceiling.

Draco sat next to her, ignoring his usual seat. He looked up as well, "Beautiful isn't it? I'm terribly fond of the night sky.. It's endless." He squirmed inwardly, wondering how to go about this, a hand still in his pocket.

Pansy nodded. "I have a charm like this at home. It's not as advanced though." She turned to Draco. "I thought you had an errand? I'm not distracting you am I?

Draco shifted where he sat and pulled the box out of his pocket. He figured the only way to do this was bluntly and straightforward. "I lied. There was no errand. I just- I just wanted to get you alone, away from everyone. I was going to wait until tomorrow.. but.. here." He handed her the green, velvet box. "Happy St. Valentine's."

Pansy made a small squeak and bit her lip. "I didn't think you would get me anything," she confessed, taking the box in her hands and opening it slowly.

Draco flushed slightly, "It isn't anything much.. just something I thought you'd like." Draco watched Pansy open the box out of the corner of his eye. Inside of the velvet box, resting on deep emerald silk, was a pair of dangling serpent earrings fashioned of pure silver.

Pansy opened the box to see a beautiful pair of serpent earrings, just the type of jewelry she preferred. "Draco!" Pansy gasped. "They're lovely! Thank you so much." In her excitement she threw her arms around him and kissed his check. Almost as soon as she did this she remembered who exactly she was hugging, withdrawing her arms quickly. "I-er... sorry, I really like them," she mumbled as her cheeks flushed a deep shade of red.

Elinor came down to the Great Hall, where many were either chatting away, or having their dinner or supper.

Lydia entered the Great Hall with a heavy sigh. She was exhausted but she'd have to eat before sleeping. She knew if she didn't she'd feel horrible in the morning. She looked around, wondering if it was mandatory for students to sit at their house tables. She sighed lightly before heading to the end of the Slytherin table, not sure she was energetic enough to visit with other students, especially those having a conversation already. Besides, she'd already agreed to meet a few others down here.

Draco's slight flush quickly turned into a crimson burn of his cheeks, the spot where Pansy had kissed him burning. Fighting a stutter, he cleared his through and smiled to her softly, "I'm glad you liked them. Will you do me the honor of wearing them tomorrow to Madam Puddifoot's tomorrow..?"

Elinor spotted a flustered Lydia sitting at the Slytherin table, and went over to her to sit. "What will you be having?"

Lydia looked up to Elinor. "Not sure really. I never eat much, especially after travel. Probably just a salad will do for the whole night." She shrugged and smiled, trying to be far more pleasant than earlier.

Pansy smiled back brightly. "Of course I'll wear them, Draco!" She suddenly noticed they were no longer alone and turned to hide her blushing cheeks. "Thank you again."

Griffin walked into the Great Hall an saw a number of students already at the Slytherin table. He saw that Draco and Pansy seemed to be having a conversation and walked over to where Elinor and Lydia were sitting. He didn't understand how the new girl had gotten down here so fast. That's what I get for taking the scenic route through the castle he thought. He took a seat across from Lydia, noticing she looked a bit odd. He yawned and sat staring at the food. "You alright there Evans?"

"Okay then," Elinor said. She poured herself a glass of water, and ate silently, watching a very red Draco and an overjoyed Pansy talking together.
