The older Nott looked her up and down several times without saying anything for a moment. "Evans... do I know her father?" He looked to Theo.
Theo nodded. "That is a possibility. I'm sure you have."
The older man nodded and looked back to Lydia. "She seems to be acceptable." He took a seat and drank the mead Theo got for him continuing to look at Lydia.

Lydia waited for Theo to sit as well before sitting again. She let all of her mother's etiquette lessons wash over her as she bit her tongue, reminding herself not to speak unless directly spoken to first and never to give more details than needed.

Amber walked into The Three Broomsticks with Neko following close behind. She walked by Theodore,Lydia, and a older man who were all sitting together at a table. She winked at Theodore with a small laugh in a way of saying good luck and walked over to order a butterbeer.

Theo stared at his father. "What do you want father? Let's make this quick."
His father took his eyes off Lydia and directed them to Theo. "I wanted to meet the young lady who seems to have caught your eye. I would not want you seen with someone who is not worthy." The man returned his eyes to Lydia. "Tell me what are you plans after Hogwarts Miss Evans?"

Lydia nodded slightly. "I can only hope to be a good wife to my husband." She said lightly. "It would be a great honour." She added, biting her tongue once more to stop herself saying any more.

The man nodded at her response. "Very well, your place would be to produce an heir and nothing more. I hope you are aware of that fact."
Theo looked to Lydia and then to his father, balling his hands into fists under the table. "It doesn't concern you who I chose as you are well aware of. You do not have to have an inquisition. Ms. Evans is perfectly acceptable."

Neko wasn't really in the mood for a butterbeer so she just found a place to sit. "That must be his father." She told herself quietly, noticing the man with Theo and Lydia.

Lydia merely nodded to Theo's father. She was about to say something but decided against it. She had not been asked to respond. She could still feel her heart pounding but she was easily settling into the role she needed to play now that she was doing so.

Neko thought for a minute. "I haven't thought of that yet. What do you think would be a good time?"

Amber shrugged "Maybe nine or ten?" she said unsure "I think now or in the next hour is a little too early"

Theo's father gave him a stern look and he stared right back at him. "I will do as I please." He growled.
"Then we will leave." Theo said in a low tone. His father looked at him, taking a drink before nodding. "Tell me more about yourself Miss Evans. I am intrigued as to what my son finds so fascinating about you."

Lydia had not been prepared for this. She thought quickly. "I can't think what I have that others do not to be quite honest. Nor is it really my place to question his reasons. I am merely satisfied that I am able to meet his requirements and find myself lucky to have earned his attentions." She gave a polite smile.
