Blake came to the edge of the forest feeling less tempted to go in now that the sun was around. He knew that the way his temptation worked was a bit different-- one should want to go in when there is less of a chance of harm, but what could he say, sometimes he wanted a large adrenaline rush. There was a book in his lap, a large potions tome from home, that was currently being read through at a leisurely speed. Sometimes he'd pause and look up because he was thinking of Pansy and if she was alright today, of Griffin and if he'd ever find an answer, or even of silly little things like what to eat for dinner.

Blake had fallen asleep outside and was now shivering. He looked around and placed a marker in his book to keep his place so he could get up and get back to the common room. Tonight felt off. It wasn't like yesterday night or any night before, it was-- something was, off.

Blake felt the night regain its personality in the dark, forcing him to hum contently and touch almost every tree they passed. He looked at Griffin with bright indigo eyes and hummed a little more, "Why are you so alone?"

Griffin sighed. "I just seem to be losing people everyday," he said shrugging but looked at Blake and smiled. "It's fine. Anyways how are you?" he asked, changing the subject off of himself.

"Losing people? Are you sure they're not losing their touch with you? Then that isn't your fault..." Blake turned to look into the forest and sighed, "I think I'm okay. I'm not terribly depressed, or absolutely happy, but somewhere grounded in the middle. I-- I miss Emery, a lot." His eyes melted at the sound of Ry's name and his heart gave an involuntary lurch. So many owls, no response. He knew he was busy, he was older and had a life, but that didn't stop it from affecting him.

Griffin looked at Blake and tilted his head. "Are you alright Blake? I'm sure there's some way you can find him and talk to him," he said, trying to reassure Blake.

Blake beamed and nodded while he brushed his hair strands behind his ear, "I'm okay. I understand that since he's older there are more responsibilities on his plate in comparison to mine. I give him his time and hope that part of it will go to me some day."

Griffin nodded and sat down in the grass. "I guess that's all you really can do."

Blake leaned against a tree near Griffin and laughed, "Which is why I do it. I can't let myself die out because I'm not getting attention. I have a life too and I intend on living it." Turning to stare up at the tree, Blake struggled up the trunk and replied heavily on the heels of his shoes and his nails to get up. He now sat on a limb and contently swung his legs, looking over the grounds and then down to Griffin, "How are you and your mate?"

Griffin grew quiet and looked around the grounds. "It's hard you know. I mean we rarely see each other and when I do she always says how much she missed me and I just feel awful for not being there."

Blake frowned and quickly regretted his decision to climb the tree. He tried but always ended returning to the limb he sat on and staring down at the space between him and the ground. Huffing to himself he looked up when Griffin spoke, "That isn't your fault either, Griffin. You try, don't you? She should be taking advantage of your time together, not talking about how much she missed you-- that much should be obvious between two people who are dating and very much enamored."

Griffin sighed. "She's right though. I'm never around," he admitted, looking up at the night sky, a pinching feeling in his chest.

Blake tried for a second time to get down and ended up in the same position. He never though he feared heights but maybe he did and just never knew. He sadly smiled to Griffin and sighed, "Are you never around on purpose?"

Griffin sat up and looked at Blake. "Of course not," he said shrugging. "Do you need help getting down?"

"Then all you're feeling is your love for her be guilty for no logical reason except for that you care so much, it hurts. Try and let her feel like you're there. Little gifts like flowers, a chocolate, even a feather or a trinket would make her smile." Blake pulled all his hair over one shoulder and played with the ends. He looked down again and then to Griffin, "Please..?"
