Slytherin Common Room

[Griffin Black]

Griffin sat down and was quiet for a moment, he had taken a little offense to Neko's comment. "So tell me about yourself. I mean your family history seems interesting..."

[Neko Wormwood]

"Hm... well..." Neko looked around to make sure nobody would overhear. "Well, both my parents were purebloods and in Slytherin. They seemed like a great couple until..." She bit her lip and hesitated. "My father became a deatheater. When my mom and older brother tried to tell him he was making a mistake, he killed them. He's in Azkaban now and I've been living with my uncle ever since." She thought for a minute. "Not really much else to tell."

[Griffin Black]

Griffin sat there nodding for a moment. "I'm... I'm sorry to hear that. It sounds awful..." He gave her a sympathetic look, not knowing what else to say.

[Neko Wormwood]

"Yeah... my uncle is an ex-deatheater as well. He gave it up after seeing what it did to my father. He was actually close friends with the Malfoy family, but they kind of lost touch." She looked down and smiled a bit. "It's not all bad though. I was very young when all this happened so I don't have very many memories to be sad about."
She looked up at him. "But enough about me. Anything else interesting about you?"

Griffin looked at her for a moment, thinking. "Ah, I'm not that interesting," he said waving his hand. "My mother's raised me since I was born, claiming that Sirius Black is my father. All our neighbors think she's a loony. But she is my mum so, I put up with it. I mean what else can I do?"

[Neko Wormwood]

"Hm... that's kinda boring." Neko said. "Hm... I wonder how Ravenclaw managed to get twenty points already..."

[Griffin Black]

"Yes, unfortunately it is." Griffin said coldly. "You know what, I was just thinking the same thing. How did that lot get so many points?"

[Neko Wormwood]

"And we only have five points? What exactly are they doing over there?" Neko grumbled a bit under her breath. Then she crossed her arms, pouted, and puffed her cheeks out like a child. "I want more points... I have half a mind to join that book club."

[Griffin Black]

Griffin nodded in agreement. "Same here. You think we should? I'll do it if you do it. I don't want to do it if I won't know anyone in there. Hell, it would be even more boring than just sitting here in the common room..."

[Neko Wormwood]

"Might as well. Looks like I'm gonna have to get myself a copy of that book." Neko said as she played with the locket around her neck as she often did when she was bored. "Eh, maybe I'll send an owl to my uncle and have him get a copy."

[Griffin Black]

Griffin stared at the locket, somewhat intriuged. "I already have a copy. I told my mum I was interested in quidditch and she went and bought every quidditch book she could find." He sighed, remembering the thought of his mom walking through the door with stacks of books, most of which were unnecessary.
"I'm going to hate doing those bloody questions though."

Neko laughed a little. "Does that mean you'll be trying out for the quidditch team?"

Griffin chuckled a bit and ruffled his shaggy black hair. He hadn't really told anyone about his dreams of becoming a quidditch player. "Well I plan on trying out. Who knows if I'll make it? I mean I'm probably no good though."

Neko smiled. "Well, I hope you make it." She said. "I've never been a huge fan of heights or sports, but I'd go to a few games if I knew someone who was playing."
