The West Tower: The Owlery

[Nyssa Pond]

"Well," Nyssa paused trying to of the best way to explain it. She reached down and pulled out an envelope from her bag and handed it to him. "Well you put a stamp on an envelope and put it in a mail box. Then it is picked up by the post office where they sort it and send it by plane and truck to its destination."

[Jake Crawley]

Jake took the letter and looked at it listening to her explanation. "Wouldn't it be easier to send it directly like we do? That seems like it has to go through a lot."

[Nyssa Pond]

"It would be," Nyssa said. "That is why we use computers and phones most of the time."

[Jake Crawley]

Jake was lost again so he nodded. "I see."

[Nyssa Pond]

Nyssa just smiled at him. "Don't worry," she said. "It is too complicated for most muggles to understand too."

[Jake Crawley]

"It makes me feel sort of dumb sometimes," Jake admitted.

[Nyssa Pond]

"You're far from dumb," Nyssa said giving him a kiss on the cheek. "I really hope I don't make you feel that way."

[Jake Crawley]

"No you don't, I find it all very interesting," Jake said. "It's odd that there is a whole different world I don't know much about is all."

[Nyssa Pond]

"Promise me you'll tell me to stop if it ever annoys you," Nyssa said looking him in the eyes. "Imagine how I felt when I found out about this place."

[Jake Crawley]

Jake smiled. "I promise but I really do find it very interesting. I'm glad you did find out about this place."

[Nyssa Pond]

"Me too," Nyssa said resting her head on his shoulder again.

[Jake Crawley]

Jake smiled putting his arm around her. "Would you like to get out of here? I like animals as such as you but a bloke can only take so much screeching."

[Nyssa Pond]

"Sure," Nyssa said picking up her head. "They usually aren't this bad."

Jake hopped off the ledge and turned to help her. "Dinner?" he asked.

"Sounds good," Nyssa said getting down from the window sill. She picked up her bag and followed Jake out
