Jake walked into the Owlry avoiding yet another flying owl. "Hey there," Jake said walking up to her smiling. "You said you wanted to talk."

Nyssa silently handed him the letter from her father not really knowing what to say. She continued stroking Blodey's head.

Jake read the letter, his eyes widening a little. "Well now, that's timing isn't it?" he said as he finished the letter.

"What am I supposed to tell him?" Nyssa asked. "He's a muggle! He can't even see Hogwarts!" She leaned her head back against the edge of the window in frustration.

"Well..." Jake started thinking. "You could always meet him somewhere else, say you can't because of classes, or have him come to Hogsmeade and give him a real introduction to our world. I don't know how he would get to Hogsmeade... I'm sure it's been done before."

Nyssa nodded thinking. "How was your day?" she asked changing the subject. She bent her legs up and pulled her knees to her chest to make room for Jake on the windowsill.

Jake sat down and in the spot she'd made for him. "I went to class and was nearly bored to death," he said. "I will never forgive my father for making me take ancient runes."

"It seems like you'll never forgive your father for a lot of things," Nyssa said. Her eyes widened at her words... she hadn't meant to say that outloud.

Jake looked at her quickly, not having expected Nyssa to say something like that. He didn't say anything but instead looked away with a shrug.
