Rose sat down at the Hufflepuff table. No one was there yet. Oh well, she was too tired to talk anyway.

Cedric sat near Rose, noticing she looked very out of sorts. He decided to keep quiet out of respect for his friend, happily grabbing a slice of toast and some marmalade. He always had a sweet tooth at breakfast.

Cedric looked around at the different students all spread in the hall at different tables. It seemed his house was suffering the greatest from a lack of students. How strange.

Continuing to eat, Cedric murmured thoughtfully to himself, wondering when he'd get to meet his Transfiguration partner.

Cedric finished his toast and yawned widely, deciding to wander to the library. He left the Great Hall.

Cedric came in to find the hall relatively empty, and he happily grabbed his usual slice of toast and strawberry marmalade, "Mm.. if they ever ran out, I don't know what I'd do." He slathered the piece of toast carefully and took a bite.

Cho walked towards Cedric and gave him a smile. "Good morning, Mr. Diggory!" she said, taking a seat next to him.

Cedric straightened up in his posture and gave Cho a bright smile, "Good morning, Miss Chang! Please, call me Cedric, I insist you do."

A smile crawled onto Cho's face as they got friendly. "Yes, of course! And you must call me Cho, please." she replied with a pleasant tone. "I trust your night was well," she continued as she grabbed a piece of toast as well.

Cedric swallowed his bite on toast, licking his lips to wipe off the excess marmalade, "Oh, thank you very much, my night was just swell. How about yours, Cho?" He noticed they had similar breakfast tastes.

"My night was good, thank you for asking," she replied curtly as she spread jam onto her toast hastily and taking a greedy bit of it. "I'm ravenous right now, haha," Cho said slightly embarrassed with a bit of jam on her lip still.

He laughed and bit and continued smiling, "Oh no thanks needed, Cho." He finished off his current slice and reached for another, "I think I understand what you mean when you say ravenous." Spreading the marmalade, he glanced at the Ravenclaw girl and saw she had accidentally left a post of jam on her lip. Cedric set down his piece of toast and reached over with a napkin, gentle wiping it away. He suddenly realized what he had done and dropped the napkin onto the table flustered and red-faced, "I-I'm so sorry for being f-forward like th-that."

Cho blushed lightly and giggled. "It's quite alright, Cedric," she replied quietly giving him a warm smile, "thank you for wiping that off for me, I probably would have never noticed!"

Cedric didn't trust his voice at the moment and decided to just nod, turning back to his toast and spreading the marmalade. Merlin Diggory, you're a moron!, he berated himself.

Cedric couldn't bear feeling so flustered, "E-excuse me Cho, I h-have errands. P-please meet me at hogsmeade later?" Before she could answer, he left the hall in a hurry.
