At Rose's comment, Cedric let loose a big laugh, wiping a tear from his eye, "You truly have a fantastic sense of humor, Rosie. But I have never had the pleasure of muggle sweets! Perhaps I should see if I may owl them from somewhere."
Cedric ate a bit of bacon, the taste quite wonderful, "Of course they don't make me run in terror. If Slytherins don't, I'm sure I can face a clothing store just fine. And dear me, it is getting much colder isn't it... I really thought we'd have some spring weather soon. Perhaps we will later in March, but I wished for it to be a lot sooner. I love the spring."
As he drank from his goblet, Cedric couldn't help but look around, "I can't believe the strange silence. Usually we're full of chatter in the hall, and now it's nothing more than a roar of whispers."

Rose blushed. "Thanks, Ced. And I can always owl my parents for muggle sweets - since they are muggles. Just tell me your prefrence of sweets, and I'll get a few good ones. Expecially some Milky Ways!"
She continued to eat some food, then talk. "I love spring, too. I think it's my favorite time of year. I really don't like to be cold. Or too hot, so I don't really like summer, either." Rose looked around the hall. It was quite empty, and people we being really quiet. "Yeah...I hadn't really noticed, until you mentioned it. It's quite strange...maybe some people haven't come back grom break yet? You were sort of late arriving back yourself."
Honestly, she hadn't even noticed the quiet. Talking to Cedric was like being in their own little world. He just....drew you into the conversation, so effortlessly.

Cedric's smile grew in brilliance, "Would you really?! I'd love anything! The fact that you'd offer is so kind. I'll be sure to pay you back!" Rosie was a sweetheart! He felt like doing a little dance, well actually, he was dancing a bit in his seat. He blushed at his antics and stopped, "Sorry. I just get excitable at the mention of sweets."
He reached for another piece of toast, "That's exactly why I love spring! It's a perfect time to do anything. Go for a swim, have a lovely picnic on the grounds, or just enjoy the day outside under the soft sun." He finished spreading his marmalade, "I think you're right. I wonder if any more will be arriving soon though, unless the absent population is somehow doing their assignments through owl. That's what I did when I was with dad."

Rose laughed - one of her really loud laughs. She was sure the few people in the Great Hall were staring. "Oh my gosh, Ced, you're hilarious! And don't worry, I get that way too. Especially after I've had sweets."
"A picnic sure sounds amazing. I haven't been on one since I was little, with my parents. Of course, if we tried that now we'd probably freeze ourselves. But we should - when it gets warmer." Rose took another sip of juice. She was done with her bacon and hashbrowns, but the toast and marmalade Cedric was having looked amazing, so she had some of that. "And I'm sure that's what's happening - hopefully we get more Hufflepuffs back. It's so quiet in the Common room. Although, it's really nice, in a way. Reading is much easier." She laughed.

Cedric chuckled, "I'm glad I'm entertaining you. I was afraid I was being dreadfulling boring, prattling on about the weather of all things."
He noticed Rosie and himself too, like Cho, had a similar taste for toast and marmalade, "I do think a picnic in the spring would be absolutely smashing! We should plan for one, for all houses. Even the Slyths can come! Perhaps we should ask the headmaster when it warms." Cedric drank the last of his juice and poured more, "I do enjoy the quiet of your common rooms, but the things we'd do in that common room bring back so many good memories- I miss our companions."

"Not boring at all," Rose insisted. "I like talking to you, Ced." Rose took a bite of her toast and got crums all over the front of her robes. She blushed and brushed them off.
"And I think that sounds like a brilliant idea - it would be great for house unity. Dumbledore would totally go for it! We should have all sorts of foods at the picnic - and sweets, of course!" she giggled.

"Well I like talking to you too, Rosie! Oh! And before I forget, one of the Ravenclaw students, a Miss Radke I think, invited me to study group today and said to inform as many people possible. You should come!" Cedric had almost forgotten about study group! How silly of him.
"I completely agree, especially with the sweet part!" Cedric laughed happily.

Rose grinned. "Yeah, I know about the study group - I sorta came up with it. I saw some Ravencalws and decided to ask them for some help, then we thought we would make it a group. But I almost forgot about it! Thanks for reminding me, Ced. When does it start?"
"Of course - it would be a happy day without some sweets!"

"Wow! Well it's a splendid idea, Rosie!" Then, Cedric gave Rose a very blank look, "I have no idea when it starts.." His cheeks flushed, "Er.. she just said it was today."
With his cheeks still flushed, he smile, "Sweets make my day in the first place. I can't function without my toast and marmalade!"

Rose looked down at her watch. "Well, if we're both done with breakfast, maybe we should just go over to the Room of Requirement now? We can go and wait, I suppose, and maybe think of some questions we'd like to ask when the walking brains get there?" she giggled. "Although, I would like to stop by the common room and get my bag from my dorm. What do you say?"
Rose grinned. "And I'll promise that I'll write a letter to my parents about sending me some sweets today. With luck, they'll be here in a few days!"

Cedric drank the last of his goblet and nodded, "That sounds ideal! Let's go back to the commons then and grab our things."
As he stood, he gingerly smoothed his robes. "Thank you very much, Rosie," Cedric's smile still in place.

"No problem, Ced," said Rose, blushing a little. And with that, the two walked out of the great hall and to their common room.

Arya sat down on the table and started to gather some food. "The best part of Hogwarts is the food!" she exclaimed, "everything looks good all the time! ...except the porridge at breakfast... "

Rose, too, was putting as much food on her plate as humanly possible. "I totally agree," she said. "And...what is porridge in the first place? I don't get it, at all. Why would someone eat that...and oatmel." Rose shuttered. "I'll have bacon, eggs and hasbrowns anyday!" She laughed.

"That is the best!" Arya exclaimed, "bacon, eggs, and hasbrowns that is, especially mixed together with cheese," Arya's stomach growled. Luckily she had food in front of her face. "I think oatmeal is pretty good. Porridge seems more... lumpy, and disgusting, in my opinion."
