"My mother, Mr. Malfoy," Gavin replied to Draco's question. "In my mother's years of Hogwarts, almost fifteen... or twenty years ago, I'm not quite sure to be exact, my mother was a Prefect for the Slytherin house," Gavin said, feeling almost uncomfortable talking about his mother. He wouldn't even call her his mum... she played no motherly role, except give birth to him and help him with school supplies, along with his father, which was extremely awkward for the 11-year-old boy he once was. "Khamenna English is her name, I'm not sure if that rings a bell. Maybe it does, you seem to know your Slytherin member history, with all due respect," Gavin said. He was hoping Draco did. Any information that Gavin himself did not know would be useful, in discovering about his birth mother's past. "Although I did not inherit the Slytherin characteristics, I believe I inherited her leadership qualities."

"No" Amber groaned. She had been freaking out all day because he had yet gave her a grade.

Pansy shrugged. "Perhaps he's been busy. I assume it takes time to muddle through the mediocre assignments the other houses turn into him."

Amber nodded "That's what I thought to. Plus he has seemed very busy overall lately. But I know I couldn't have done that bad so I should stop worrying" she said taking a bite of her roll. "So you and Neko are going to be partners for Divination class correct? I still need to find a partner" Amber said looking around the room.

Draco was a bit surprised when he heard Gavin telling him the truth. It was an undeniable truth, clearly seen on the Ravenclaw's face. How could someone from another house be honest with him? Draco Malfoy. Commonly referred to as an 'ice prince,' or a jerk altogether. He went rigid as he heard Gavin speak, sipping his pumpkin juice. He fought the urge to sputter, "Khamenna English? Do you know how absolutely fond my father and mother are of her pastries? She caters for our events all the time. You're her son?"

Pansy was watching Draco again. Something the other boy had said shocked him, she could see it in his eyes. She heard Amber say something but couldn't comprehend it. "I'm sorry, Amber. What was your question? My apologies," she said turning to look at her.

Gavin choked on his own spit when he heard Draco's reaction. "Y-yes, I am her son..." Gavin was dumbfounded. He was not expecting that at all. He knew his mother catered pastries and occasionally sold them at Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop... but to cater for the Malfoys' and their parties? That was actually... an honor. "Yes, yes I am Khamenna English's son," Gavin said more confidently. "It is an honor to hear that Mr. and Mrs. Malfoy enjoy her pastries. She works hard on them. "

"Oh no problem. I was just asking you to confirm that you and Neko are going to be partners for Divination class. I thought I overheard you asking her. I still need a partner" Amber said once again looking around the room for a decent wizard or witch who could be her partner.

"Oh, yes we are," she answered. "I had forgotten you were taking it as well. I believe Lydia and Rica are in it as well."

"Lydia seems like the best choice" Amber said looking back at Pansy "I will probably ask her since I do not know Rica that well" she said before taking a drink of pumpkin juice.

Pansy took a bite of her roll before replying. "Yes, Lydia seems as though she would be a good choice. I haven't seen much of Rica lately."

Draco laughed a tad, "Yes, well, mother and father were always quite picky when it came to finding a proper caterer. I still remember when I was younger.. my father's expression when he first tried a sample of her caramel mousse cakes with white chocolate shavings.." Draco fondly stared off into space, engulfed in the pleasant memory of a simpler time. Realizing he had left mid-conversation, he straightened himself, "Excuse me. It is a pleasure to meet her son. Tell me, did you inherit any of her culinary skill?" Draco offered Gavin his hand as a token of acceptance.

"I know. I have only spoke to her maybe once or twice. And if I am not going to have a partner that's around, what's the point" Amber said looking at a near Ravenclaw table, smirking.

Pansy nodded. "You have a point." She gave Draco one more glance. He looked happy. She suddenly hated that Ravenclaw for being able to do that. She had to leave. "Amber, are you finished eating?"

Gavin saw Draco's handshake offer and Gavin accepted, firmly shaking Draco's hand. "It is a pleasure, Mr. Malfoy," he said with a nod. "If you would ever like any pastries, please let me know, I will be more than happy to notify my mother. She would be more than glad to send you some," Gavin said. He remembered his mother ranting about how she appreciated the Malfoy's business and how it helped her business greatly. "My mother has taught me a few things. I am not close to her skill at all, but I do like to think I am close to chocolate making," Gavin said. He could not believe the conversation he was having with Draco. Who would of thought...
