Amber laughed "Before you come back though, we had no entertainment. But I suppose you should for a little while" Amber frowned "Really? Then you should come to my house for one of my mum's ridiculous balls or parties. That is if you wanted" Amber laughed

Blake opened the letter and read through it, a bright smile on his lips, "It's Miss Arya, one of my friends. She wrote me a get well letter." He folded the letter and placed it neatly aside his tea saucer with a plan to reply as soon as possible.

Theo gave her a look. "I don't think being thrown into a party would do either of us any good. I spend my time avoiding my father and hiding. Pansy occasionally tries to get me to dance with her. I never learned the finer art of dancing, I fear." He looked at her. "What is it you most dislike? I would assume you would have men lined up for your affections."

"Does she attend Hogwarts? I don't recall an Arya in Slytherin." Draco frowned at the thought.

Blake sipped his tea and hummed, "Well, she does attend Hogwarts. I met her formally at the Ravenclaw study group- she's in Hufflepuff."

Draco sneered, "You befriended a huffleclod? You very well know people outside of our house aren't part of the elite in this world, Blake. I would suggest you lose her. Quickly."

"Oh well I meant just you" Amber said as her gazed followed a 1st year walking by then turned back to him and laughed "My most dislike" Amber repeated as she thought for a moment then turned back to him "Do you mean in general or in a guy?"

Theo shrugged. "I meant about your mother's parties but you can tell me about men in general if you chose."

"Well about my mother's parties, I just dislike the way people suck up to her as if she was a god or something" Amber said shrugging "And she acts so differently when she is hosting a party. And to tell you the truth, I am not a social person" Amber laughed "I prefer to have few friends and that is it"

Lydia walked in with a fifth year boy thanking him as she sat down. Napping through lunch had been a bad idea but it was too late to think about it. It was her own fault for staying up late the night before. She was a bit annoyed with herself for sleeping so late. There was only an hour and a half left for Hogsmeade that day and she'd wanted to go to The Three Broomsticks today.

"My father acts like that. Well, he more expects everyone to treat him like a god," he thought. "I'm told my mother loved parties. In a way, I was saved from that." He poured himself more juice. "We think very much in the same way, Amber."

Amber nodded and was about to say something when she saw Lydia with a fifth year "Lydia" Amber called to get her attention.

Blake gave Draco a freezing fixed stare. His usual thoroughly warm and inviting presence congealed like a lake mid-winter as did his dulcet tone which now resembled the intense chime of a large church bell, "And I propose you keep your insufferable opinions about our house being esoteric to yourself. You can conform to your machiavellism, Draco Malfoy. I will choose to be belligerent to your beliefs of what this house means and find my own means of pulling ahead. Different and much more effective means. And as outlandish as they may seem to you, perhaps you'll comprehend them when you're at the bottom of the chain of being." Blake served himself some more tea, stirring in more sugar.

Amber tugged for Theodore to lean down "What on earth is he going about?" Amber whispered as she looked at Bake.
