Rose squealed. "Oh, that is too cute! I totally wish I had a boyfriend - espeically with St. Valentine's day coming up." Rose sighed. Being single wasn't much fun.

Griffin came running into the Great Hall and sat down next to Neko, out of breath. "Told 'ya it would be real quick." he said gasping for breath. He smiled. "Ran there and back. Most fit Slytherin, wouldn't you say?" He laughed lightly, still trying to catch his breath.

Griffin looked from the table to Neko. "Oh just something. I needed to ask my mum for something for uh... tomorrow." he said, trying to conceal a small smile.

Neko tilted her head, a bit confused again. "Okay then..."
She looked around and then realized she had never introduced him to Rose. "Oh yeah! Griffin, this is Rose. Rose, this is Griffin." She grabbed their hands and made them shake.

Rose saw the mischivous glint in Griffin's eye. She was sure it had something to do with St. Valentine's day. But she wasn't sure...
"Hello," she said loudly. Rose was always loud. "I'm Rose - Hufflepuff. And you are?" she asked, extending her hand. Embarrassingly, she said this just as Neko introduced her.
"Sorry!"

Griffin smiled. "It's for uh, St. Valentines Day. I uh, had a sudden idea."
He was a bit taken aback by Neko's actions but smiled and shook Rose's hand. "Nice to meet you Rose."

Neko smiled, a bit proud of herself for introducing them. At the same time she was a bit worried though. What would Draco and Pansy say if they saw a Hufflepuff at their table?

Griffin looked at Neko and Rose. "So how do you two know each other?" he asked. He occasionally shot glances at the Great Hall entrance, worried that Draco and Pansy would walk in at any moment.

Rose saw their worried glances. She was sure that they were worried they would be seen with a Hufflepuff. Maybe she should leave...? Maybe her and Neko's friendship was better not in public....

Griffin could see that Rose saw that he was worried. "Don't worry," he said reassuringly. "It's just some Slytherin's aren't big fans of the Houses interacting. We're quite alright though," he said with a light smile.
