The Headmaster, held up a hand and surveyed the hall. "Silence." Once the murmurs had died he continued. "I am not sure which of you have and have not seen the Daily Prophet recently. Those who have will know that we will now be increasing security. There has been a break out from Azkaban."

Gavin groaned when the Headmaster spoke. He ran his fingers through his fluffy hair and rubbed his eyes as his attention turned to the head master. Oh what he would give to converse with Cho for five minutes. His attention grew, however, when the Headmaster said what happened. "A... breakout..?" he muttered to himself.

Draco couldn't help but narrow his eyes as he spoke loudly over the students, "I thought Azkaban was virtually inescapable, Headmaster."

Effy heard Gavin question what the Headmaster had said. She picked up her copy of the Daily Prophet and pushed it down the table to where he was sitting.

"It would seem that the offender has found a way to sneak past the guards. As such, I ask all students to make sure that they are in their common rooms at all times if they are not in the great hall, the library, or lessons. All students will be accompanied between lessons by a teacher or a prefect."

"Oh, hello Gavin..." she replied; however, Cho's eyes widened at the news of someone escaping Azkaban. Cho leaned towards Gavin's ear and whispered," I thought no one could escape Azkaban..."

Gavin looked at the Daily Prophet. Yup. It was true. He opened the Daily Prophet, not to look at the story in the little detail given, but maybe there was a good cross word puzzle, or something witty in the Funnies section. But this was no time for humor. His attention directed back to the headmaster. But as soon as Cho whispered into his ear, his heart sunk. Her voice... and her skin, it glistened, or maybe it was because his eyes were watering from the dust. "I- I'm not sure..." he whispered back to her. He felt disappointed. He had nothing cool or courageous to say.

Draco sneered. How ridiculous! Why would one bloody breakout concern any of them! They were a school, a sodding teaching establishment, not a an accessible inn. If anything, Hogsmeade had more to worry about than they did.

Rose gasped. A break out? From Azkaban? That couldn't be possible...even she, a Muggle-born, knew that Azkaban was suppose to be impossible to break-out from.
Rose turned to Tonks, who looked just as surprised at she did.

"Because of the recent events, the school will be hosting the Dementors of Azkaban until further notice. I ask all students to keep their eyes open though. Any suspicious behaviour should be reported immediately." He looked about the hall again. "Should you see the criminal on the grounds you should not approach for any reason." He lifted his wand and a picture rose in front of all of them. "Sirius Black is a dangerous man and should be treated as such."

Draco placed his hand over her's and sighed under his breath. Dementors. He had heard plenty about them, any good witch or wizard grew up with stories about the dark and unforgiving creatures, but he had never seen one. How could the Headmaster allow such vile things onto school grounds? He muttered to Pansy, "The incompetence at this school amazes me.. and I'm surrounded by it everyday."

Effy wondered what Sirius Black would want at Hogwarts, why would he ever come to their school? And Dementors? Effy had read about them, but never imagined that she would encounter them. The thought of them made her shudder.

Gavin's eyes widened. D-dementors? At Hogwarts? Who did that?! Gavin looked over at Cho, making sure she wasn't scared. He patted her hand, for comfort, of course... but mainly for him. It was ridiculous how students didn't have a say in this.

Rose could barley breathe. Dementors? Of course she had read about them...then had nightmares for a week afterwards. The very idea of them had her shaking - how could she live with them at the school!
