"You're not odd," David said. "I totally understand. I just thought that you meant that you didn't enjoy playing, which is what confused me." David looked at Gavin,"I don't know, it depends on whether or not the squid's mum told him not to play with his food."

Nyssa laughed awkwardly. Despite her desire to see the squid herself this conversation was making her worry about Gavin. She squeezed his arm a little bit with her head still on his shoulder.
