Nyssa took the daffodils from Jake. "Thank you," she replied with a smile. She put a hand on Gavin's shoulder to calm him.

"Why the hell is he giving you flowers, Nyssa?" Gavin looked over at Nyssa and furrowed his eyebrows. He obviously was not happy with this "kind" gesture. He wanted to give Jake a kind gesture himself.

"I'm not taking it out on her, I never laid a hand on her," Gavin turned and looked at Jake, "and don't call me mate," Gavin hissed. Gavin looked back at Nyssa, "hold on Nyssa," he tried his best to stay calm and looked at Jake, "Why did you get her flowers? Obviously it was for some reason."

Luna quietly and with a certain subtlty to her move, drew her wand, ready to disarm anyone who starts a fight. Keeping her wand still hidden, "It's okay, Jake."

"We were talking yesterday and she was sad," Jake said looking at Gavin. "I thought it would cheer her up, but if I'd known it would cause a scene I obviously wouldn't have. Nyssa is nice and I wanted to cheer her up." He looked over and smiled at Nyssa. "You don't have to leave. I told you I don't much care for Hogsmeade anyway."

Cedric nodded to Harry and looked between the two boys feeling the tension. It wasn't good. Frowning, he stood in his spot and kept in mind he was a Prefect and had to protect the peace between students, "I suggest you handle your situation like mature men and sit, please. Flowers are simply a sweet gesture, perhaps Jake meant it as a friend Gavin. Sit, both of you, or Jake sit and Gavin take your leave like you planned. I suggest leaving Nyssa out of this however. She's a smart girl who can decide where to go on her own."

"Excuse me Cedric, but I am not sitting, I was getting up to leave with my girlfriend," Gavin said and gently put his hands on Nyssa's shoulders, "let's go, Nyss," Gavin leaned to Nyssa's head and whispered in her ear as his hands trickled down Nyssa's arm and laced their fingers together. He motioned towards the exit, hoping Nyssa would come with him.
