Blaise sat down at the Slytherin lunch table for some good eats. Reaching forward he grabbed a few barbeque chicken drumsticks and some rice. Grabbing a fork he started eating.

Draco came to seat himself at his usual spot in the Great Hall and mused upon the realization that his spot was always empty, as if reserved by some force for him specifically. He filled his plate not disgustingly so and ate at ease.

Draco came into the Great Hall for a very late dinner, taking his seat alone, not bothering to find company for he wasn't in the mood for it. He served himself a plate and goblet full of juice, no longer in his school uniform though his Prefect badge sat upon his chest; it glimmered under the lighting of the hall.

Dinner this late was not common for Gavin. In fact, he was going to skip it in all today. He saw his good friend Draco Malfoy eating alone and Gavin decided to sit with his friend. Gavin walked to the Slytherin table, standing on the opposite side of Draco. "Evening, Draco," he greeted.

Draco looked up and blinked owlishly as he was snapped away from his thoughts. "Gavin. Sit, please." He may not want company but he had not forgotten his manners, "How are you?"

"I was just passing by, but thank you," Gavin sat down at the seat across, debating if he should eat or not. "I'm doing fine. Congratulations on the house cup," Gavin said, "how are you doing?"

"Thank you, and I am doing fairly well, though utterly bored. There's nothing to do around here anymore, I'm sure you understand," Draco haughtily replied to his future business associate and sighed, staring down at his plate for a moment before looking back up and noticing Gavin hadn't touched anything. "Not hungry?"

"Something about eating at different tables... it's odd," Gavin said. He remembered his younger days, wondering if each table served something different for dinner. "And I do understand. Everything... dead, so it seems."

"Is our food not to your liking, dearest Gavin? We don't poison non-Slytherin students if that's what worries you," Draco smirked as he teased him, pausing to agree. "Dead is precisely the work that comes to mind."

Gavin laughed heartily at Draco's comment. "I'm not worried about that," he said and got some food to please his stomach and Draco. "There is a Masquerade in the planning, actually. Would you be interested?"

"Masquerade, really? How droll. Who is in charge of this little soiree?" Draco asked curiously. If it was someone he somewhat tolerated, he may get involved as he did have plenty of funds to burn, but again, it all depended on the person.

"I've been wanting a dance. Effy tried to talk the Headmaster into throwing one, but he said no," Gavin twirled spaghetti on his fork. "And idea of a masquerade came to mind. So I brought that up, not to the Headmaster, but planning it outside of H ogwarts. Rather than a... dance persay, it can be. But no dates, no fancy dresses. Just charmed masks that buzz the memory, incapable of remembering your name or recognizing any voices." he explained.

Draco tapped his fingers on the table, head propped up on his hand as he watched Gavin explain. He sat back up and ran his hand through his hair, "It sounds like it has some merit... Count me in." His face expressed his approval of the idea as he nodded, fork back in his hand to eat.

"And it will solve the drama most of the women here have," Gavin said, recalling all the problems the girls went through. Such as them wondering who would take them or what dress they would wear.

"Gavin, the words 'drama' and 'women' naturally belong together- it's a law of life or something like that," Draco waved a hand as if to say it was a petty thought, or obvious at that. "They worry about anything they can and everything they shouldn't."
