Effy looked out over the water and sighed. She walked onto the bank and lay down next to Gavin, "Is there any reason in particular you asked me here?" She asked, looking up into the sky.

Gavin shook his head, "nope. I haven't been outside, I didn't want to come alone so I invited you."

"Ah," she said, slightly disappointed, "well thank you. I enjoy your company."

"Thanks," Gavin smiled, "you are pretty cool too." He said. Gavin stood up, " do you want to go to the great hall and get dinner? I'm starving."

It was cold again, but Mildmay was fine with it. He preferred to be too cold rather than too hot. He tugged at his tie, sliding it open and started to walk around the lake, away from Hogwarts. When he felt sure there was no one spying on him, he fished in his pockets and brought out a pack of cigarettes. He took one out of the pack and put the rest away, put the cig in his mouth and lit it with a touch of his wand.
His whole body relaxed as he took a slow drag.

After he had finished his cig, Mildmay headed back to the castle.

Blake had checked the time. He had about less than an hour before he had to go back to the castle for curfew. Lately, he hadn't been feeling hungry. He was worried about finishing his task, he had classes, homework, and now there was a ball. Walking very slowly along the edge, he stopped and peered into the water.

Kerela walked quickly and quietly down the lake, and stood there silently. She took out a small marble that she brought from home and decided on practicing her Freezing Charm by herself. Throwing the marble up high in the sky, she pointed her wand to the flying marble and said with force, "Immobulus!". However, the marble still bounced on the ground, unaffected by the Freezing Charm. Sighing, she quickly figured out that she was not quick enough. With that correction in her head, she threw the marble a far distance away, and then, summoned it back with a quick Accio. With a fast flick of her hand, she said, "Immobulus!" and it stopped in mid-air. Sighing in relief, she quickly lowered the cape over her head and walked over to examine the frozen marble. Smiling, she pocketed that marble and walked over to her next practice spot.

Hagrid clapped the hippocamus on the neck, and snorted and tossed its head. "Aye, they were champion. Thanks for that, it were a real good lesson."
The merperson screeched at him in Mermish, waved and dived, leading the kelpie and hippocamus Hagrid had used for his lesson back to the depths. Hagrid watched them go, until the lest ripple had spread to nothing, before he turned and made his way back to his hut to change into dry clothes.

Theo walked with Lydia by the lake, trying to figure out what the Giant Squid was doing.

Lydia smiled as they arrived. "Dad said he'll be coming back around later tonight with a few things." She sighed softly. "Better watch out though, he's likely to give you the third degree."

He smiled. "Oh he can if he wants but I'm sure I can handle him." He wrapped his arm around her. "Are you cold?"

"A little bit." She smiled. "I've been feeling pretty numb all day though so it's nice to feel anything right now." She stood near the lake, kicking a stone. "I missed you today."
