By the Lake

[Kiba Elm III]

Kiba hadn't really been paying attention. He mind started wandering as he walked rhythmically. Kiba was still facing forward and moving his feet. "You know, you're kinda cute," he said without realizing Arya could hear him. Refocusing, Kiba stopped and turned to face Arya. "I'm glad I could help find your scarf," Kiba responded with a smile.

Arya grinned sheepishly and her knees buckled when Kiba called her cute. Her heart fluttered and her face flushed. Words couldn't come out of her mouth when Kiba stopped and spoke to her. She could hear her heart beat. She stared at Kiba, sucking on her bottom lip, nodding slowly. Her head was dizzy. Once Kiba turned back around, she took off her hat and tossed it to the side and held her head. "Oh my god!!" She exclaimed, trying to act surprised, "my- my hat! It blew away!"

Kiba shook his head. "What did I say about being more careful?" he called over his shoulder. "Where did it go?" he asked, spinning around and backtracking through the snow. He tried to step in his own footprints for fun. Kiba's eyes met Arya's as he asked, "Did the wind steal your hat away?" His arms were crossed and his head was tilted to the right slightly.

"You just said I needed to be more careful," Arya said, following Kiba's sides, watching him step in his foot prints. Arya shrugged when Kiba asked about her head, "I unno," she said childishly, "it's a very nice hat. I don't blame the wind if she wanted my hat."

"Ugh, well, I might as well help you find your hat since I'm here," Kiba said, giving in. He pulled out his wand, made a light, and started to look for the hat. Random footprints ruined the otherwise perfect snow.

[Arya Rith]

Arya stopped and watch Kiba walk in front of her, staring at his backside. Her lips curled into a smile and she ran back towards him. "Where did my hat go..." she muttered, her head turning directions quickly. "I think it's this way, Kiba!" Arya exclaimed, pointing to the direction where she threw her hat.

Kiba saw Arya point and headed over in that direction. He shivered again and sniffled a little. "I hope I don't get sick," he thought to himself. He worked his way through the snow carefully, until he finally spotted the hat. Kiba pulled the hat out of the snow and brushed away as much ice as he could with gloved hands. "Here you are," he said cheerily, turning to Arya, but keeping his eyes on the hat. "Please don't lose anything else," he begged.

Arya took her hat from Kiba but did not put her hat back on because of the remaining ice, she did not want her head to get cold. "I promise I wont lose anything else today," she said and raised a pinkie, "I pinkie promise," she said, staring into Kiba's eyes, "ok?" she smiled and tilted her head, hoping he would hook his pinkie with hers.

Kiba hesitated. Was it okay for him to associate with a Hufflepuff like this? Kiba stood for a moment before slowly raising his hand. "Like this?" he asked, hooking his pinkie as best as he could with his hand still in a glove.

[Arya Rith]

The pinkie promise felt awkward to Arya with Kiba's hand in a glove. Did it still count as a pinkie promise? "Yeah, that's perfect," Arya smile moved to the side of her mouth and she leaned forward and kissed her pinkie lightly and pulled back and moved her hand so Kiba wouldn't kiss his pinkie. That would be awkard. "Hufflepuffs are good finders... I guess I'm not much of a Hufflepuff," she said as a joke and laughed. Kiba probably didn't get it. It was a joke within Hufflepuffs. "Thank you so much Kiba. I owe you," she said and moved closer to him, "lets go back to the castle. We should head to our common rooms."

Kiba returned his hand to his side. He didn't laugh at the girl's weird joke. He looked at Arya with a bit of confusion on his face. "Yeah, it's getting late," Kiba said in agreement. He set off at a brisk pace.

Arya followed after Kiba to the castle.

[Ron Weasley]

Ron sat down by the lake. Luckily he was wearing a jacket with a hood as it was raining heavily and there were leftovers of the heavy snow from yesterday. He open his shoes and put his feet into the water and it felt really cold.

Ron then remembered something that he had promised to do. He got up abruptly,put on his shoes and grab his things and dash all the way to the grounds and into the castle.

[Neko Wormwood]

Neko walked toward the lake, the snow crunching beneath her feet with every step she took. She sat down in the snow and stared at the lake. She couldn't explain why, but she felt so lonely lately. She wished Griffin was around more often. She held her knees close to her chest as she felt warm tears roll down her cold face.
