Jake woke up to find an upset owl pecking at his arm. He took the message and sent off a reply.

Nyssa walked down to the lake and sat down by Jake not saying anything. She was not happy about a letter she had just received from home.

Jake sighed feeling sick all of a sudden. "What about us?" he asked quietly, knowing it was going to upset her but he was upset too. "You could... I don't know, stay."

"What?" Jake asked again. "I don't know what you are talking about. I thought you hadn't even told him about us and why would that make a difference?" He was more upset now.
