Nyssa thought for a moment. "I don't really know," she said. "Our dynamic has changed so much since mom died. I wouldn't think so. They aren't particularly scary either one of them."

Nyssa blanched and turned so Jake couldn't see her face. "Yeah," she chuckled awkwardly. It was becoming more and more apparent that she couldn't hide this from her family much longer.

Nyssa nodded. She had always known it but hearing both herself and Jake say it made her realize it was real. With this acceptance came silent tears that crawled down her cheek.

Jake looked down and saw a tear running down her face. He held her more closely. "Nyssa, what's wrong?" he asked kissing the top of her head.
