Fred looked around. The forest was much creepier at night. "Ugh, I didn't want to be here after dark. Hope fickle prefect Ron hasn't noticed our absence."

George nodded in agreement. "Yeah, bu-," he stopped mid sentence. He looked at Fred and touched a finger to his lips, telling him to be quiet. He felt as if they weren't alone.

Fred began to back up more quickly. He dropped the load of items he was carrying and pulled out his wand. He bumped into a rather large tree and pulled George behind it. His breathing was calm, but he was very nervous. Especially now that he was no longer sure it was a person so much as a thing that was in their presence.

Blake hummed to himself an Irish lullably and even after stepping in a few feet, he walked the edges. He wouldn't go further in tonight.

George held onto his gatherings, not wanting the excursion to have been in vain. He heard someone humming, and it sounded awfully familiar. He looked over at his twin, "Fred...Fred, do you hear that?"

Fred cocked his head and listened. It sounded like one of the lullabys that their mother had played for them when they were little. He was glad it was a student, but he still wasn't going to show himself. He pointed his wand up at a tree a little ways off and cast Diffindo, severing a tree branch, which then fell to the ground, hoping that maybe it'd create a diversion.

Blake's humming stopped abruptly when something fell nearby. He didn't know what it was but it had been enough to ruffle the foliage and create sounds wind usually does. Clearing his throat he placed his hand at a tree trunk and spoke aloud, "Hello..? Anyone there?"

George laughed and dropped what he was carrying. He let his feet slide forward so that his back was going down the trunk, until he was seated at the base of the tree.

Fred issued a sigh of relief and leaned against the tree he was hiding behind. He came out from behind the trunk and held his wand up, "Lumos!
He couldn't believe he'd gotten scared over this. "Well, fancy seeing you here Blake. Bloody hell, nearly gave us a heart attack. Isn't that right George?"

George stood and came around to stand next to his brother. He couldn't help but smile at what had just happened. "Well, this is a surprise. What are you doing in the forest at this hour of the night?" he asked, looking around at the many trees around them. He'd forgotten how scary the place could get. Turning his head back to Blake, he added, "Let's be on our way. We can catch up on the way to dinner. If it's not over yet."

Fred's smile saddened at the prospect of missing dinner.

Blake smiled to the twins when they revealed themselves but stayed rooted to his spot, "I apologize to you both, I did not mean to frighten either of you-- I was confident in my loneliness." He looked around and then back to George to answer him, "Enjoying the night is what I'm doing, and the forest. I love it here." Waving to the twins, he kept walking, "You two can go have your dinner, I'm staying."

Fred sensed something was wrong, so he pulled out his watch to check. His mum had given both George and him one for their 17th birthday, as was customary in the wizarding world. But he'd never been one for watches, so he just kept it in his pocket. "Blast. We've missed dinner by an hour," he said, his dismay clear in the tone of his voice.

George held a hand to his stomach, which was grumbling like a demented troll.

Clearly amazed the twins would let something like this get in their way, Blake piped in still walking away, "I'm sure you two are more than capable of smuggling foods and are well aware of the kitchen's location."
