Fred stopped just short of the Willow's range of whomping, where he looked around to make sure no one would see their trick.

Fred happily took a handfull and threw it between them and the tree. The powder instantly engulfed both the twins and the tree in a shroud of black, allowing them to work in secrecy. Having done this numerous times, Fred easily conjured a small stone, and very accurately used a banishing spell to send the pebble zooming into the small knot in the base of the tree. With the Willow immobilized, the Twins gathered their things and felt their way over to the secret passage that led to the Shrieking Shack.

After what seems like forever, Sirius emerged a dog near the base of the whomping willow. He hurried away from it, moving to stand at the edge of the forrest.

Taking care to slink under the branches of the willow, the dog slipped into the secret passage and back along the path. He was glad it was dark. It meant he could hide well.

Lupin headed towards the whomping willow. "I wonder," he thought to himself, "would he go back to our old hideout?" The branches stopped moving and Lupin slipped into the passageway.

The scent stopped at the tree. The black cat looked at the tree and tilted its head. The cat slowly made it's way around the tree, but to no avail. The cat began to paw small parts of the base of the tree.

The cat moved around the tree slowly, inspecting every inch. At one part of the base of the tree there seemed to be a small hole that lead to something. Maybe a passage way.

The cat could hear voices coming from inside. The cat darted back, faster than most cats. Within a short period of time, the cat walked back into the castle.

Professor Lupin walked across the foggy grounds quickly, heading towards the Whomping Willow. If anyone were to have been watching him, they would have seen the branches pause momentarily, long enough for Lupin to disappear behind the tree.

Lydia caught sight of the willow and urged her broom forward. She hoped it was a little too slow to respond when they got close. They were flying awfully fast and they weren't going that close.

Theo went after her gripping the handle of this broom tightly and making sure she got around safely and cleared the tree before he wanted to speed up and fly past her.

Lydia laughed, pushing forward quickly. She made the turn the second she reached the willow and made it past without the tree even noticing. She was glad they were nothing more than a couple of blurs.

Theo laughed as he watched her clear the tree. Out of the corner of his eye he saw the tree coming to life and speed up. The Willow swung a branch as he speed towards the finish line hitting the back of his broom with the tip of the swinging branch. He felt the broom began to shake. "Oh hell." He gripped the broom tighter trying to stay in control.
