Arya sat in the common room, trying to read the book for the book club. She wanted to go, her house desperately needed points, she just dreaded writing an essay for the book. Arya sighed and set the book down, putting it off.

Rose walked into the common room and fell onto one of the chairs. She did not want to move. She was so drained. Then Rose looked up and saw Ayra. "Hey, Ayra," she mumbled into one of the pillows. "How are you?" she asked.

"Hello Rose!" Arya exclaimed, "how are you feeling today? You look... worn out," she said, "you feeling alright?"

Rose shrugged. "Just kinda tired...from last night. And my head is a little stuffy...I think I was out in the cold too much. But I'm fine. What'cha doing?"

Mildmay entered the common room, cheeks pinked from the cold air outside and his hair more ruffled than usual. His tie had been pulled wide, too.
He smiled slightly at the two girls and waved absently, but didn't pause, going to the boys dorm.

"I'm doing good. Reading for the book club," Arya said, motioning her head to the book. "It's good that you are all cleaned up though," Arya smiled. She saw Mildmay enter and waved to him before he left to to go to the boys dorm.

"Oh yeah, book club..." Rose said. "I should probably do that. Get some more points for Hufflepuff." And she smiled softly. "Yeah. Took an hour, but I finally got all the mud out of my hair."
"So Ayra," began Rose carefully. "Do you think I should try out for the Quidditch team? I'm not sure if I would be good as a starter, but maybe a reserve? And I'm not sure which position would be good..." Rose shook her head. "What do you think?"

Mildmay emerged from the boy's dorm, still seeming distracted but he took a few steps towards the girls, interrupting their conversation with an apologetic gesture. "I've not done Lupin's set homework yet - have either of you? I was thinking we could maybe work on it together in an hour or so - or after dinner. I'd like to do it now, but I have to owl someone."

Arya was thinking about Rose's question. Rose did seem to have good control on the broomstick, until that Slytherin brat cursed her brrom. She looked at Mildmay, "I haven't worked on his homework either. We would love to work with you! Well, at least I would," Arya said, nodding, understanding that Mildmay had to go. Her direction turned back to Rose. "Maybe chaser? The pressure isn't that much... not like the seeker, and if you have good aim, chaser should be no problem. And I'll definitely protect you from bludgers, so don't worry about that. A reserve wouldn't be bad to start, though. But Hufflepuff does need more teammates."

Mildmay grinned and said, "Great. Later, then." He left after nodding fairwell to them both and trotted out of the common room.

Rose nodded at Ayra. "You're right...Hufflepuff doesn't have that many teammates. I guess I'll practice some, and then try out. What could it hurt? I have many more years to try out again!"
Rose turned to Mildmay. "Oh yeah...Defense. Probably should get on that..." she laughed.

"Exactly! " Arya exclaimed. "And I know for a fact that Cedric, including Mildmay will help you practice if you need it. And you know I will help too!" Arya added.

"In the meantime, I wouldn't worry about joining the quidditch team. Just remember you aren't forced to, " Arya said and reached over to get the book again.

"You're right," said Rose, standing and stretching. "I think I'm going to take a nap before dinner. I'll see you later, Arya!" said Rose, going over to the girls' dorms.
