"Oh, hi Amira. We're not really doing anything." Effy wrote something out on a scratch piece of parchment and sent it away with her owl.

Gavin nodded, "yeah, just talking, nothing serious. How about you, Amira?" he asked, then looked over at Effy with a confused look on his face, which he quickly wiped away.

Effy walked into the common room and sat on one of the couches. She pulled up her legs and rested her head on her knees. She was tired and hadn't seen many Ravenclaws around recently. She wondered if she would be able to spend time with Gavin again later today. She thought about her classes; Professor Lupin had never sent her grade for the previous assignment, and she hadn't a clue of what to think of while performing a Patronus Charm. She pulled out a book and tried to read, but her mind continued to wander...

A timid brown haired and brown eyed girl walks into the common room and quietly sits down on one of the couches unoccupied by anyone else. She's new here and is kind of shy, so she settles for watching everyone else as they converse. She's used to doing this, but wishes that she could just get up the nerve to actually talk to somebody. Perhaps one day, she thinks, but for now she'll be content with just watching.

Effy sat in the Common Room, not knowing what to do. She pulled out the book for the book club meeting and tried to do some research. Every few minutes she would stop and try and sketch something on a scratch piece of paper, but then cross it out and move on to a different creature.
