"Then I am glad we are in agreement Ms. Smith though I must say you could not have honestly enjoyed your punishment unless you are masochistic for not even I would have enjoyed what you did today." Minerva's brow was raised when she heard the Slytherin's response as she was not born yesterday nor was she fooled though she was glad even in the charade Ms. Smith knew what she did was wrong. "Furthermore, if you did not know the importance of school rules, where have you been the past six years?"

Amber laughed "Trust me, I did not enjoy the punishment at all. But, I'm not going to be mad about having detention when I have no control over if I have it or not if I have already planned to have it" she said "And well, you could say that I have always respected the rules but that doesn't mean that I don't go on a whim to occasionally break them" she said then nodded to Professor Burbage "Will do"

Minerva nodded somewhat approvingly, her left hand removing her glasses while her right brought her tea to her lips to drink. "Now that is much more honest than what you originally fed me Ms. Smith. Please, continue with your tea. I am done with my little lecture." Her tea was now gone but she still reached for a Danish cookie to eat, "Help yourself to the treats."

Charity looked over at the clock. She needed to eat dinner and get a small nap in before her patrol. "Minerva, thank you for the tea, but I need to be heading off to take care of things before patrol this evening," she said and scooted away from her seat and pushed the chair back in. Charity turned to look at Amber, "I hope to receive an owl from you for the class enrollment and I hope to not see you on patrol tonight." A small smile curled on her lips, "I wish both of you a good evening," Charity said before exiting the office.

Amber nodded "You will and don't worry, you won't" she smiled then turned to Professor McGonagall "I hate to be rude but I actually need to be going as well considering I didn't have lunch"

Minerva simply nodded and watched Charity go, "Remember your patrol Charity, have a goodnight." She shut her tin and covered the Danish cookies as they already had plenty out and upon a proffered plate. "You may finish your tea if you wish Ms. Smith or take your leave if you would like to go. I do not wish to detain you any further or unreasonably." Minerva no longer took any more treats feeling she would now risk spoiling her dinner as much as she loved her tea beforehand.

Amber nodded then stood up "I think I will go to dinner so I can get back to the common room to catch up on homework that I have to do. Thank you for the tea and delicious cookies though. I do hope that I will not have to come here a next time for a reason like today's anytime soon" she said before nodding and leaving the office

"Have a pleasant day Ms. Smith." Minerva dismissed the girl with that and waved her wand to shut the door slowly behind the Slytherin girl with a heavy sigh. She was done for the day. All that was left was sending her post pile off to reach parents by morning and students as well which forced her to tuck away the unfinished biscuits and cookies in their respective containers so that she may exit. A tickle to the door and a click was all that was heard anywhere near the office as she retreated with her letters tucked away in her robes.

Minerva was back in her office without much to do so she was currently curled up upon her desk. A silver tabby had her head tucked away and napped contently on the clear desk though she was careful not to knock anything over with her tail which flicked in her basking of relaxation. The students tired her out so much sometimes. There was always a problem to be dealt with or a rule to be broken, it was amazing the organization they instilled hadn't gone to shreds and for that reason she was thankful for her colleagues.

Holding his jaw with his hand, Gavin made his way to McGonagall's office. Gavin knocked on the door and waited with his free hand by his side. "Professor- it's an emergency," he said and moved his jaw around, feeling fine after the few minutes.

Minerva jumped down from her desk with an irritated yowl and hissed, morphing back and opening the office door, "What can I do for you young man?" Her tone was clearly irritated as well as weary. Another student, another emergency, she just hoped to Merlin it wasn't some petty issue that was not worth any of her time or she'd take points without any hesitation in her actions.

Gavin coughed and smirked to himself. Jake didn't throw that great of a punch, but Gavin would play it off like it hurt. He clenched his jaw. "I was doing my patrol, Professor and I was out at the lake. Nyssa Pond, Ravenclaw, and Jake Crawley, Gryffindor were kissing. I told Nyssa it was past curfew and to head out and I suggested that Jake should go to his common room. He says a rude remark, telling me to 'sod off', so I subtract my points. He talks back, I subtract another ten. Nyssa starts to cry and runs off and Jake punches my jaw and left without a word," Gavin explained the situation to McGonagall and opened his mouth to show his cut gum and lip.

Minerva's lips fell into a position very common for them through her years as a Professor at Hogwarts, they thinned and went white as she tried very hard not without difficulty to process exactly what had been said. Her lions of any and all house members, any student for that matter, should know better than to lay their hand on another in a sign of violence or aggression of any sort. A teaching environment was a safe one and punching students, Prefects especially now that she saw the badge, definitely did not promote such a notion. "I will take care of it young man, please go see Madam Pomfrey for your jaw."
Minerva shooed Gavin out of her office, locked it, and left with billowing robes to get to the marble staircase and get herself to the seventh floor. Of all the things to deal with, she was surprised Professor Burbage didn't catch them on her patrol.

When they reached her office, Minerva tickled the door and unlocked it in one go, "In Mr. Crawley and have a seat." She shut the door behind them a little roughly while her robes shuffled audibly and made a swooshing sound as she sat behind her desk, "I am disappointed in you greatly, Mr. Crawley."
