Theo walked up to the table with Lydia and sat down. "For your information I wasn't all over you. I was simply trying to help you with your assignment." He reached over and grabbed the juice pouring some for Lydia first.

Lydia sat next to Theo with a smile. "Sure sure." She winked and kissed his cheek. "And it had nothing to do with the fact that we're dating at all."

Theo narrowed his eyes and stared down at his plate. "I don't know why people can't mind their own business and leave us be." He grumbled almost inaudibly. "What do you want to do today?"

Lydia looked to Theo curiously. "What do you mean?" She looked a bit confused. "Oh, well we were going to have our race today weren't we?"

"What do I mean what?" He asked. "Yes, we can have our race. We still have nothing to bet..."

"Well I may have heard you wrong. You were kind of mumbling. Something about minding their own business? As for our bet, the winner can think of something later." She smiled.

Theo blushed. He didn't think he was speaking out loud. "Oh, err - just me being selfish," he waved with his hand. He took a bit of food once again looking at his plate taking his time before speaking. "I like that idea. You're brilliant."

"I dunno how you'd be selfish but alright." She smiled, taking her time to cut an apple into slices.

Theo looked up as he saw a familiar owl flying his way. It dropped a letter in front of him and left without delay. He groaned. "It's from my father," he said opening the letter.

She looked to the letter but then away, since it wasn't her business. "He doesn't write often does he? So it must be important."

He nodded continuing to read. "Did you tell your parents about us yet?" he asked not looking up from the letter and starting on the second page.

"I did. Mum sent the dress because of that." She sighed looking annoyed. "You'd think from the way she was acting we'd been together for a year at least."

Theo nodded again half paying attention his face going a little red as his eye narrowed at the paper. "Mmmmm." He finished reading the letter and place the parchment on a nearby plate while taking out his wand. "Incendio." After the parchment burned away he vanished the ashes.

"What's wrong?" She tilted her head curiously before biting one of the apple slices. "Is everything alright? Mum didn't write to him did she? I know she wouldn't be pushy or anything but still. Sometimes it's not pleasant to be told something like that."

"My father is a bastard," he answered closing his eyes in an attempt to control his anger. "He knows but he did not say how. He has...sources." He opened his eyes again and stared across the Great Hall. "He offered me suggestions. You saw my response."
