Okay listen up. This is going to be completely OOC and I want everyone to listen/read very well.
Being admin on this site is getting to be extremely stressful and quite a lot of work. There are some things that I am getting sick and tired of and if things do not change I'm going to have to turn into the big bad mean admin that starts giving people formal warning and booting people off. I don't want to do this. I'm sure no one else wants me to do this so let's all follow along so I don't have to do this.
There's been a lot of things that have been getting to me recently.
1. People acting like Mary Sues. I get it, we all want to be great. Fine. But NO ONE knows everything about everyone at every time. If someone says something and you're not in the room with them at the moment they said it, you didn't hear it unless someone else told it to you. End of story.
2. People whining at me about members having more than one account. I don't care how many accounts people have as long as they keep their bloody characters straight. If you don't like that I allow this it's too bad. This board would be nowhere right now if people didn't have more than one character. I play Percy for goodness sake. I have two accounts. I can't even enjoy playing Percy because I'm stuck dealing with everyone whinging about stupid little things that don't matter, multiple accounts for example! Get over it.
3. Spreading rumors. This is really bothering me. I'm sick and tired of getting messages from people that are upset because someone's been talking bull about them. The people who are starting these rumors and treating others like they don't matter need to stop right now because I know who you all are and I have no problems banning you. YOU are the ones ruining it for others, it's not the people with more than one account ruining it. This board was meant to be a fun place for potternerds to roleplay and have some fun, NOT to personally attack people or to harass people.
4. MY RULES BEING IGNORED. Again, I want this to be a fun place but I have asked REPEATEDLY for people to act mature about things like Karma and so on and yet I STILL see people are abusing it and acting like five year olds when something doesn't go their way. I'm not joking. If I don't see people acting more mature after this rant then I will remove Karma. This is the last straw. If you're going to smite, don't. Do not touch the Smite button. DO NOT TEST ME. If anyone does lose Karma after this I want you to tell me.
5. This bullcrap about people shunning other members, ESPECIALLY IN THEIR OWN HOUSES. Enough! Get over it! People are different. Suck it up! If I hear about, see, get wind of ANYONE shunning people for a stupid reason you will get warned and possibly banned. I'm sick of having some of the same people sending me messages over and over and over again where people are upset because they're being treated badly for no reason. And FYI everyone, I happen to like when people post longer, more descriptive posts. I am a writer and an English major. I ADORE descriptive posts, I LOVE posts that are longer than one liners. I don't want to turn this into a strict thread but I mean really people! How hard is it to spell check and use proper punctuation!? I'm not saying you have to like everyone and everything everyone says all the time, that would make things boring. Obviously, there's got to be some conflict but I've actually heard people saying they don't like the way some people have posted! It's not your post! Deal with it! So what if you need a dictionary to read? I like increasing my vocabulary daily! Just stop acting like you're better than everyone else here!
6. CLASSES! For the love of- TAKE SOME CLASSES! If I have to replace Professors I will so you can take more classes! I'll send out an email to them all! CLASSES! Anyone else wondering why the house points are so low? CLASSES!
7. I have a list of people I have concerns about. I will talk to those people if they continue to concern me. These are not "Oh are you okay?" concerns, they're "I have concerns with your conduct on the board" concerns.
8. PEOPLE WHINING ABOUT CANONS ACTING UNCANON-LIKE. Give it a rest! The last thing I want is to hear about canons acting uncanon-like! Unless badguys start picking roses and this board starts turning into all those horrid fanfics where the badguys are all "LOL NOW I'M A GOOD GUY DERPDERPDERP" I don't want to hear about it! To keep the board going Canons have to act a bit out of character. If they don't we'll come to a flying stop. The end.
9. And people who are speculating about people, give it a rest. False claims about people? STOP. And I have another secret for all of you, I support gay rights and this is a gay friendly board. If you have a problem with it I suggest you leave because I'm not going to censor peoples' personal choices.
10. STAY. IN. CHARACTER. Unless you're talking OUT OF CHARACTER then you should not be OUT OF CHARACTER! If your character is from another country and would likely have trouble with English or have an accent can you TRY to put their posts in an accent? I don't even care if it's the RIGHT accent!
That's all I'm going to rant about right now. I'm sure you guys get the message. I really just want this board to be a fun place for everyone and I really really don't want to have to be mean and such but some people on the board are really making it hard for me to enjoy myself and for others to enjoy themselves.
NOW I'll open the board to you. Is there something that been bothering you? PLEASE don't use names when you're posting and please keep in mind the ten things I listed about. If your concern falls into something up there please read the section again before you post it. I want everyone to feel that they can talk openly amongst each other. If you don't want to reply then you don't have to. If no one replies with concerns then I'll assume that you've all read this through and agree with me.
Again, I'm really not trying to be a jerk and I want this to be a fun place but I can't let this stuff keep going on. I mean, how hard is it to act respectfully to each other? Really? I'm just so stressed out over this and it's making me want to close the board for good. I'm sure no one wants that. Please confirm that I'm right that no one wants the board to shut down because I can't handle the stress.
