Ron inhales the fresh air and sighs. It was truly a good morning,he thought. He then decided to sit by the edge of the lake.

Post by Blake Deimos on Mar 29, 2010 15:55:42 GMT -6
Blake giggled at nothing as he laid down by the bank of the lake and read aloud to the people who weren't there. His father told him reading aloud was a fantastic practice for orators, and though he didn't consider that ever to be necessary, his father proved him wrong. Lord Alexandre Deimos always gave him employees beautifully encouraging speeches Monday mornings, he would have done one today at promptly 5:30 AM. He always used quotes from famous potions masters, makers, apprentices, and they all ended correlated back to the task at hand-- when he first witnessed this he was five. Blake smiled as he stopped reading, remembering home with a great ache in his chest. He'd never be a professional orator.. but he'd try and do what his dad did when he took over the company. Of course, he had plans for the company, and those plans were kept hidden away for the day he felt he had the confidence to face his father and present the facets of change he wanted to implement. Turning onto his side to face the lake with his book open, he looked out over the water and stared at a point in the distance without any reason but to think. He shook his head and looked back to the page he was on and read aloud again,
" 'He raped her, didn't he?' She just nodded. I couldn't tell if she was sad or just knew more things than me. 'We should tell someone, shouldn't we?' Sam just shook her head this time. She then explained about all the things you have to go through to prove it, especially in high school when the boy and girl are popular and still in love. The next day at the homecoming dance, I saw them dancing together. Dave and his girl. And I got really mad. It kind of scared me how mad I got. I thought about walking up to Dave and really hurting him like maybe I should have really hurt Sean. And I think I would have, but Sam saw me and put her arm around my shoulder like she does."
Blake laid there, book on his chest, eyes glazed over in more thoughts. He knew enough from other muggle literature what some terms were but this was more contemporary and he was a little lost, he'd have to ask someone about what a homecoming was beside what the book let him now, a dance. Rape was uncommon for their world, at least he thought it was. Any of the papers they read from different wizarding districts of the world, or England, never made mention of rape. Was it only muggles who raped..? He hoped not. Blake always thought a person was a person, and people rape but they're people too, so do they rape? Maybe we do, but in a different way... We rape one another of social standing with our thoughts of blood purity, and we kind of make it a caste system.. Maybe he'd bring this up next time he was in a group of friends, he was curious to see what they'd say...

Blake shifted around in the snow, shielding his book with his the front of sweater to keep it dry. He felt himself starting to melt the snow he was laying on with his body heat and in turn, he was getting sopping wet. The snow seemed to be falling heavier now, and the lake looked as if there little diamond white specks dancing around on the surface, swirling in patterns at the random. Before he could wonder if the merpeople got snow when the condensation sunk through the water, Blake finally felt the water on his sweater sink further in and lick at his flesh. He gave a small yip of sheer surprise even though it was to be expected, standing and jogging back to the castle to get dry and warm.

Amira walked out to see it was snowing and smiled, she spun a bit and sat down not caring her clothes would get wet. She closed her eyes and turned up her face feeling the flakes fall and melt on her cheeks. She started to make a mini snowman next to her.

Arya set the lanterns down and lit them, a glow surrounding her. She saw Blake and two Ravenclaws enjoying themselves, but Arya decided to not join them. It was nice to enjoy the snow by herself. Arya tugged on her white cashmere hat, almost covering her eyes. She brought her hands to her mouth and started blow on the mittens to keep them war. The snow was falling and the wind was blowing and Arya's scarf blew away. "My scarf!" she exclaimed and started to chase after her scarf. The scarf was white, so it blended in with the snow, making it harder to find.

Kiba trudged through the snow. He had finished his work for the day, eaten dinner, and found some free time. The cold air stung his lungs as he walked near the lake. Pulling his jacket tighter around himself, Kiba looked up to see Arya looking for something in the pure, white snow. "Need any help?" he called to her from a few feet away.

"Oh! Hi-" Arya paused, trying to remember his name, "...yoou," she paused, somewhat embarrassed that she forgot his name. She coughed to cover the awkwardness up. "Um, yeah," Arya brushed hair behind her ears, "I lost my scarf, well, it was blown away... and it's white and it's dark outside, so...," Arya was at a lost for words. She was rambling. "Yeaah..."

Kiba gave Arya a quizzical look before pulling out his wand from beneath his jacket. "Lumos," he said casually. Bright light poured forth from his wand, illuminating the area. "I'll help you look for your scarf," Kiba said with a friendly smile. He bent down and began searching the snow with his free hand. "Your name is... Arya, right?" Kiba spoke hesitantly, he vaguely remembered meeting this girl.

Arya felt around her waist for her wand, she debated if she should use it to look for her wand scarf and leave the lanterns in the snow and hanging in the tree to remember where she was at before. "Oh, thank you," Arya smiled at Kiba and took out her wand which started to glow after she said lumos. "Oh yes! My name is Arya!" she exclaimed, "um, I forgot your name..." she said quietly and avoided eye contact with Kiba, feeling awkward that he remembered her name and she forgot his.

"Kiba Elm, at your service," Kiba replied absentmindedly, focused on his search. "Where could that blasted scarf have gone!" he cried out in frustration. He kicked a small snowdrift, slipped, and ended up on his back in the snow. Not wanting to look stupid, Kiba began making a snow-angel to cover up his fall.
