Pansy walked through the grounds on her way back to the castle. An owl suddenly flew in front of her, dropping a letter and leaving immediately. She bent down, picking up the letter and reading. Her face fell and she headed back in the direction of the dorms.

Nyssa found a comfortable patch of ground and sat down to knit. She had finished a few rows when her barn owl, Blodey, flew down beside her. She had a note from home with nothing really all that important to say. Nyssa read the note and gave Blodey a treat. The owl perched on her shoulder while she read the note then resumed her knitting.

Griffin walked outside, cursing quietly under his breath. This year was only getting worse and worse. He took a deep a breath and sat down on the grass, trying to calm himself down. He closed his eyes and sat there for a few moments, almost in a meditative trance. Finally he opened his eyes and exhaled a little as he pulled a piece of parchment out of his bag. He hadn't told anyone, not even Neko, that he had learned origami at a young age. It wasn't so much that he was ashamed of it, it had just slipped his mind until now. He folded the parchment into a little bug and tapped it with his wand and it sprung to life, climbing over his arms and hands. He laughed a little, finding the little creature amusing.

Paul walked out onto the grounds and covered his eyes to block the sun. He looked around and found a lone student laying in the grass and a group of people near the lake. He could tell that some of the people in the group were his own housemates but Paul decided to try to make a new friend first. He walked over to the boy cautiously and sat next to him. "Erm hello," Paul said.

Griffin sat up and looked at the Ravenclaw sitting next to him. "Do I know you? Ravenclaw eh? Never seen you before. I'm Griffin Black," he said extending a hand. He was anxious to meet a new friend.

Paul shook his hand smiling. "Paul Bernard," he said, his thick Irish accent coming through. "So why are you here by yourself when there seems to be a group of students right over there?"

Griffin smiled at Paul's accent. "Another Irish bloke eh," he said, letting his own accent come through. "Nice to meet you mate." He looked over at the others and sighed. "It would seem that some of your housemates have judged me without even knowing me. You can join them if you like, lest you be branded a traitor for being friends with me," he said laughing a little.

Paul grinned. "Same to you Griffin." He looked over at the others then back to Griffin, seeing the green on his robes. "Ah so you're Slytherin. Hm, maybe I should go talk to them." He got up and stretched. "It's been a pleasure talking but I should join my housemates," he said this last word a little slowly. Housemates was an entirely new word to him. "I will put in a good word for you though." Paul waved at the Slytherin boy and made his way towards the group of Ravenclaws.

Griffin smiled and waved at the Ravenclaw before laying back down in the grass. He closed his eyes and fell into a little nap.

Theo made his way out the ground and mounted his broom, taking off seeing how fast he could go. He enjoyed the cold breeze against his face.

Griffin sat up and rubbed his eyes. He looked up and realized he must have been sleeping for a long time. He got up, gathered his things and made his way to the common room.

Blake left the edge of the forest to walk the grounds. He had started to hear strange shuffling near the cusp and did not want to encounter something in the dead of night where no one could find him.
