Elinor laid down on her bed, thinking. She hoped she hadn't interrupted anything too personal down in the common room earlier. She sighed.
She decided she might as well get started on her homework, to bring up the points for the House. She got up to get a quill and some parchment.

While scribbling furiously on the parchment, Elinor paused and heard the lovely sounds of the violin again, this time in a bit more happier tune. "The girl in the common room really knows how to play well, for sure," she thought. Elinor continued writing, enjoying the music.

Neko put her violin away and got changed. She curled up in her bed and removed her locket. Opening the locket and looking inside she wiped a tear from her eye. She then closed the locket, tucked it carefully under her pillow, and went to sleep.

Pansy went stomping into her room. "That stupid Peeves!" she said aloud. She has been having a perfectly lovely evening, especially after her letter from Draco. She had been returning to the common room to find him when suddenly she was besieged with water balloons and forced up on to the Astronomy Tower to avoid him. After a few hours and another letter from Draco she emerged from the tower a bit worse the wear but thankfully no longer wet.
Changing into her night clothes Pansy placed her letters into her magically locked box. (It is Slytherin after all) She went to bed thinking about her weekend plans.

Elinor entered the dorm as quietly as possible, not wanting to awaken anyone who might be sleeping. She gestured to Rica to come in.

Rica guided over the floors silently behind her, and saw the two beds with closed curtains. "Who are the other two?" She whispered. "And are the cats? Or mice?" She chuckled to herself. "Then again, I suppose in Slytherin we are all cats, aren't we? Or snakes anyways."

"There's Neko Wormwood, (who's with Griffin, if you didn't already know), and Pansy Parkinson (who's with Draco). I don't keep any pets, and I do not believe the others do, either. Have you any?" Elinor asked.

Rica laughed lowly. "I wasn't talking about pets. But no, no pets other than my trusty eagle owls for the oceanic flights. And they sure did couple up fast, didn't they?"

Elinor coloured a little. "Well, yeah. In fact, Griffin asked Neko to be his valentine just today! I think they're adorable. Draco and Pansy are little... off? To me. So, why'd you decide to come to Hogwarts? I mean, there are other magic schools, too."

"Asked to be his valentine? Well, isn't he a sweetheart!" Rica smirked. "And the Malfoy is coupled up, huh? Too bad. Malfoy's are known to just reek of sexiness.. Hope Miss Parkinson knows what she's doing with it!"
Rica turned to the bed that Elinor indicated and pulled her black and silver suitcase from her pocket, re-sizing it. She unzipped it, but instead of opening it, she simply sat next to it and looked to her newest friend. "As for why I came here.. Well, I needed a change of scenery. And my godmother lives in london, so I moved in with her. She recently lost her husband- A muggle, for Merlin's sake- and she was living alone, so I was welcomed with open arms. Plus, I always loved reading stories of Hogwarts as a child. I was a but odd- picking up 'Hogwarts, A History' when other children were reading fantasies such as Snow White and the Seven Goblins."

"Well, then, I say you have good taste in education. I also believe we're going to get along really well here," Elinor added. "Which lessons are you planning to sign up for?"

Rica shrugged out of her form fitting robes and stretched in the blank tank top and tight jeans. "Not sure. The Headmaster gave me the weekend to figure my schedule out. I know I want to take the regulars- especially, Potions and Magical Animals, my specialties. I'd like to take some Arithmacy, but I'm not sure it's available for our year. How are the teachers around here?"

Elinor took notice of Rica's choice of clothing. "Most of them are all right, in my opinion. Not that much work has been given so far."
Yawning, Elinor stood up and changed into her pyjamas.
"Well, I'm all out for today, I'm going to bed now. Good night," Elinor said, getting onto her bed. She yawned one more time, and soon drifted off to sleep.

Rica watched Elinor move into bed and listened as her breathes evened out almost immediately. Elinor was cute, cuter than Rica had expected. Though, for all she new she could wake up tomorrow and find out her other two roommates were ugly as hell. Which wasn't very likely, considering the fact that one of them had been chosen by a Malfoy.
Standing up, she opened the unzipped flap on her suitcase and looked inside. Levitating her clothes quickly into the trunk at the end. Underneath were a few personal belongings, most importantly a photo of her and two people who were obviously her parents, with the similar chocolate eyes and hair. She folded it and put it into a secret pocket within the case, moving it underneath her bed. She shimmied out of her jeans and threw them at the bottom of the bed. She'd sleep in tomorrow, get over this jet lag. Then she'd begin her new life.

Elinor awoke all of a sudden. She had had another bad dream that night. She was drenched in her sweat, her breathing quick and swift. She has been having the same nightmare for some time now, and whenever she wakes up, she forgets what had happened in the nightmare.
Elinor sighed and sat up. She looked over to her right, where Rica was sleeping soundly. The rest were doing so, too. Deciding there was no way she'd be able to get back to sleep now, she decided to wander around the castle, and return when she felt sleepy again. She slipped off the bed as quietly as possible.
She bit her lip hard to prevent herself from screaming out when she stepped on something sharp on the floor. Grabbing her wand, she muttered, "Lumos!" and pointed her wand at the place she assumed the sharp object was. It was her ring. "Nox!"
"How did this get here?" she wondered. She clearly remembered having it on her hand before she went to sleep just now...
She slipped the emerald ring back on to her right hand, and looked at it for a while. She touched the faint markings on the silver band, recalling the engravings on the inside of the band that completed it. The ring sparkled in all its beauty against the moonlight coming through the windows. She pushed it further in her finger, to make sure it doesn't slip off again, then she grabbed her wand and left the dorm in silence.
