Pansy nodded at Lydia's response although she doubted anyone could see her from where she was lying. "You did fine. It was just the three of us anyway. How did you arrive? Train?"
"I was just wondering what happened to your hand, Griffin," she asked. "I saw it was scratched."

Griffin looked at his hand and shrugged. "Oh just a cut from this morning," he lied. "It's fine, no big deal."

"Yeah train. It only went to Hogsmeade though so I went by carriage the rest of the way. It's a nightmare taking the train on your own. Pretty spooky actually." She sat herself down near the fireplace and stretched. "Lots of space though."

"Oh ok, just thought you'd have some exciting story about muggle dueling with a Gryffindor or something."she said.
I love the train," Pansy replied to Lydia. "I don't think I'd mind at all.

Griffin chuckled. "Have you seen those pathetic excuses for wizards that call themselves Gryffindors? They couldn't win in a fight, with or without magic."

Lydia nodded. "I like the train when I've got more to do than just sit there and stare at my feet. I'd at least like to sit with someone."

Pansy laughed in agreement. "Well of course they wouldn't win. I'd have all my faith in you."
"You have a point, Evans."

Amber nodded at Griffin's remark and said, looking back down at her book "What jokes they are"

Griffin chuckled. "Yes but it would be interesting if we cornered one tomorrow eh? Too bad they hide away all day."

Lydia pulled out yet another craft, a knitted scarf. "You said it started snowing didn't you Parkinson?"

Pansy sat up. "I agree. I haven't seen one yet, but I heard from one of the ghosts that the Weasel took the Mudblood to Madam Puddifoot's and they only stayed for about fifteen minutes and didn't even talk." She laid back down after finishing her story.
"Yes, I did and it's very slippery." she replied to Lydia.

Amber laughed at the thought then remembered "Did anyone else see Ronald Weasley or better know as blood-traitor, on the train today? He tried to one simple spell and it backfired on him causing both him and Potter to lose their trousers!" she said start to laugh at the memory of it happening.

Lydia nodded. The scarf she was working on was nearly finished already and was getting longer as she spoke. "Then I suppose this one's just in time."
Blinking at Amber's story Lydia shook her heard. "I'd rather not imagine it." She laughed. "There's some things I'd rather not see. Including mental images." She shrugged and bound off the end of the scarf, starting to add the fringes at the ends.

Draco cast a final drying charm on his letter and folded it neatly. He gathered his things and left for the boys' dorms and returned with a now enveloped letter and his robes. "I'll return shortly. I wouldn't suggest leaving the commons, curfew is upon us. If you do, make sure I don't see you and you don't get caught." Draco left the common room to mail his letter to Malfoy Manor.
