Cedric was surprised to here himself being spoken to, "Arya! Oh.. Arya.." He couldn't hold back his tears, "My father.. he's been hospitalized again..!" He wiped at his eyes with the backs of his hands desperately trying to stop his crying.

Arya stepped out of the tub and made her way towards Cedric and brought him to a hug after noticing his tears and his sobs. "Cedric..." Arya weakly said. She was unsure of what to say. The poor boys of Hufflepuff. All of them were in terrible times. "Your father is in my heart," she whispered, "along with you," she pulled back her head to look at Cedric, "you are a strong young man, Cedric. Be strong for your father. And that strength will pass through and be given to him," she said and held his hands, bringing them close to her heart.

Cedric smiled to Arya and put on his dazzling grin though it wasn't as effective with his depressed eyes and tear-streaked face. If anything, he looked like he felt, hopeless. "Thank you, Arya. You are kind and caring, to keep us in your heart. I'll be strong, for my family." He hugged Arya one last time and left the common room to get home.

Rose collapsed into one of the most comfortable chairs in the commonroom. She had so much homework to do, it wasn't funny. But she was always getting distracted! Uggg.
'Ok,' she thought. 'I must get down to work. NOW.'
With this, Rose pulled out her work...

Cedric returned looking worse for the wear, walking quietly to the dormitories. He felt like he looked, bad.

Rose came into the common room with the package in her hand. She had just been at the owlery, sending a letter to her mother when another owl had come and giver her a package. Rose was very excited - it wasn't from her family, she knew that.
Rose opened in and a note fell out of it. She read through it and smiled. She looked inside the box, to see the sweets that Cedric had sent from home.
Cedric really was too sweet! And she knew her weakness, that was for sure!

Cedric entered the common room while stretching from side to side. He scratched at his head and look around, all the Puffs present younger years gossiping away. Polishing his shiny Prefect badge, he walked out and hoped to run into someone he knew to spend time with.

Arya entered the common room after being caught by Pansy. A huge grin was on Arya's face. She headed up the stairs to the girls dorm to change into her pink pajamas then came back down stairs. She sat on a love seat and curled up. Another good night so far.

Cedric came down from the dorms in his soft paste yellow pajamas with magically animated badgers crawling all over them. Even when he was asleep, he represented house spirit. It had been a long day and he had retired early, but he was awake again so he came back down just to be awake. He saw Arya on a seat and took a seat next to her, "Well good evening Arya! How are you?"

"Oh good evening Cedric!" Arya exclaimed, hugging Cedric quickly before pulling away. She giggled at Cedric's pajamas and put a finger on his arm, in which a badger sniffed her finger, staring at it before Arya pulled away. "Oh, I'm amazing! I talked to a boy today!" She giggled and brought her knees to her chest, "well, not a booy, but he isn't interested in me, I'm not interested in him, but it was the second night in a row we talked. It's nice!"

Cedric returned the enthusiastic girl's hug as he grinned, "Well you're a happy camper! This boy must be something though, if talking to him put you in such a mood. Well come on then, who is he, what house, and why has he put that silly smile on your face!" He settled into the couch, ready to hear Arya's excited chatter.

Arya covered her face, "he's in Slytherin..." she muttered and moved her hands down so she could see Cedric. "He's a sixth yeah, his names Kiba Elm III," Arya said, emphasizing on "the third" to show the fanciness. "It was nice... there wasn't much of a serious conversation. He helped me find my scarf and hat yesterday!" Arya said, looking back on their conversation tonight. "I liked to him though. I said I was a pureblood," Arya sighed and leaned her head on Cedric's shoulder for comfort, "but he bought it..." her voice was weak, "if I told him the truth, well, I was afraid he would stop talking to me."

Cedric pat Arya's knee and sighed, "You must like this boy a lot to lie to him like that, then. I think you should tell him the truth, and soon Arya. If he stays friends, he doesn't care and that's a true friend. If he stops talking to you, you didn't need a boy like that in the first place."

"I know Cedric!" Arya flailed her arms and moved her head, resting it on the arm rest. "I know I should have told the truth, I know I should tell him the truth soon, but in that moment, I didn't know what to think! I was scared, and fear gets the best of people sometimes," Arya said, sitting back up. "He didn't seem like he cared, he didn't show much emotion, but that's always the worst," Arya sighed heavily and sunk into the chair. "How's your dad doing?" Arya looked up at Cedric and sat up straight again and turned her body towards him. Cedric's health concerned her and she hoped the best for the Diggory family.

Cedric laughed heartily at Arya's obvious love-struck distressed, "You really really like this boy, Arya, more thank you think.. or you wouldn't be flailing around like that. You're right when you say fear gets the best of people, but honest is the best foundation of a friendship. Tell him the truth, okay?" He went a little still at the mention of his father, and slumped into the couch. "He's... he's doing better. He's at home at least, they moved him from the hospital so he could be in a more comfortable atmosphere. So that's good."
