"I guess in time we developed a better bond. I mean I've been here for six years afterall," he surmised. "They're alright anyway, friendly bunch," Oliver said. He followed her lead, twisting so that his head rested on an arm rest and the back of his knees on the other so that he was facing her. "Why're you still up at this time?"

Arya smirked, "the same question goes to you... but I guess I can't sleep. No point on trying to sleep for me, it will only bug me. At least staying awake allows me to have conversations," she said.

Kerela walked awkwardly into the empty common room, her pale skin reflecting the simplest amount of light and her long dark red hair was tied up in a high ponytail, her angled bangs left alone. She sat by a comfy area on the floor, close to the fireplace, but not so close that she might get burned if she feel asleep, and begun reading the book she had brought over from home.

Cedric walked in dressed in his pajamas. He had this strangest urge to just feel perpetually comfortable after that night spent bent over the desk, "Hello everyone! I hope you're all well and fine."

"U-um, hi. I am Kerela," said Kerela as she noticed a guy walking into the common room. She nervously tuck a loose strand of hair behind her ears and smiled, before thinking again and looking at her feet.

"Well hello Miss Kerela! Welcome to Hufflepuff, I don't think I've seen you around here before," Cedric replied enthusiastically, "Did you just arrive?"

"Yes, I just arrived. My mother was in the hospital and I needed to take care of her, leading to me missing school for the first few weeks..." Kerela mumbled at the cheerful boy.

Cedric kneeled to Kerela and put a comforting hand on her shoulder, "Well Kerela, I am Cedric Diggory and here if you ever need to talk. My father had been in St. Mungo's causing my delay my return to Hogwarts as well."

"Thanks Cedric," said Kerela, wiping a rogue tear. "How's your dad?"

Cedric smiled and produced a kerchief from the pocket of his pajama pants. He gave it to Kerela, "My dad's just fine now. He gave me a scare, not replying to my owl for quite some time, but it turned out he just got really busy at the Ministry. How's your mum now?"

"Well, she is alright but my father really needs some help around at the restaurant they own..." said Kerela softly, her eyes closing as she thought about her parents struggling. "They insisted on me coming to Hogwarts, and I hate disappointing them. But..."

Cedric frowned and sat next to her, "I'm sure if you talk to the Headmaster you could work something out that pleases your parents but lets you come to school. He's a very understanding man, and wise as well."

"I am not sure if my parents would like that..." replied Kerela, her face blushing from accidentally crying and spilling all her secrets out so easily.

"Owl them and talk it out, Ker! There has to be a way for you to appease all sides and feel good," Cedric told the new girl as he patted her back, "That way your dad can get help and you can still be in school."
