The Owlery, where the school owls and the owls belonging to students live, is located on the top of West Tower.
The Owlery is a circular stone room, rather cold and drafty, because none of the windows have glass in them. The floor is entirely covered in straw, owl droppings, and the regurgitated skeletons of mice and voles. Hundreds upon hundreds of owls of every breed imaginable are nestled here on perches that rise right up to the top of the tower.

Charlotte entered the owlry, watching carefully where she stepped so as not to get any droppings on her shoes. Her curiousity had gotten the better of her, and she knew that she couldn't read the boy's journal in front of the others, thus; the reason why she had come up here. She walked over to a window to get better lighting and opened the well-used journal's cover to reveal the young boy's handwriting. It had an amazing personality, and as she began to skim the first page, she realized that he did, as well. She told herself that she would stop after the first entry, and then the next, and then the next, but soon she found herself past a month's worth of entries and she could not stop.

Nyssa walked up to the owlry. She waved to Charlotte who was reading something, she couldn't tell what. She was too focused on the task at hand. She called Blodey down from the rafters stroking the bird's beautiful smooth head. "To dad ok? Directly to dad," she said as she handed the barn owl the card. Blodey tilted her head to the side as if confused before taking the letter and flying off. Nyssa let out a sigh watching Blodey fly away.

Charlotte had finally finished lightly skimming the boy's journal. His writing was exquisite and poetic. Truly a marvelous work but she would never tell anyone that she read it. She would make up a story about how she opened it to write in it, but then saw the unfamiliar handwriting, and closed it immediately. Opening it again only to search for a name inside of the cover. She set the book down and wrote a letter to the boy, sending if off with Mercury, her owl. "Are you alright?" Charlotte asked Nyssa.

Nyssa snapped out of her daze and turned to face Charlotte. "Yeah, fine," she said with a small smile. "Just had to break some news to dad."

"Oh, is everything okay?" she asked, concerned that something bad happened. Charlotte hoped that she was not intruding too much, but assumed that if Nyssa didn't want to talk about it, she would say so.

"Everything's fine on my end," Nyssa said with a smile. "It is just a matter of how he takes it," she trailed off beginning to think of all the potential negative results.

"Takes what?" she asked Nyssa, not knowing at all what she was talking about. Perhaps she did something that her father wouldn't approve of?

"That I'm a witch," Nyssa said looking down at the floor as she spoke.

"Oh, are your parents separated?" Charlotte inquired, assuming that Nyssa's mother knew. She was unsure of Nyssa's blood status, but whether she was half-blood or muggle-born, one of her parents had to know that she was a witch.

"Not exactly," Nyssa said. "I've managed to keep it a secret for four years now."

"Well, at least your mother will be able to help him get through the shock," Charlotte comforted Nyssa. "I'm going to head back to the common room, let me know if you want to talk about it, okay? It sounds like this is really hard on you." Charlotte gave Nyssa a quick hug, and then headed towards the common room.

Nyssa just nodded sadly not seeing the worth in correcting her. "Fingers crossed," she said brightly. "Anyway, I should probably get going. Left Jake at the lake to send that. He'll be worried," she said with a bit of a laugh. "See you." She waved as she left the tower.

Blake contently sent off his assignment to Professor Burbage and sighed. He had signed up for classes he never thought he'd take at his time within the walls of Hogwarts, his worst subject-- Transfiguration, and one not many Slytherins took out of pure distaste for the topic in general, Muggle Studies. He felt no remorse in his decisions as each were an opportunity to earn his house points but he hoped they would not be anything less than he was used to.

Ron walked up to the Owlery and his face was of total disdain. He hated the Owlery. He loathe the smell, the surroundings and the bird droppings. It irked him how much this place could get any worst. He sighed deeply but went over to Pig. "Hey,Pig!" Ron called out happily to him and his owl hooted with delight upon seeing him. "Here you go,some treats for you before you make your not so far journey in the castle." Ron chuckled. "Here. Take this to Hermione. This note and some chocolates, alright?" The owl hooted again and then soaring its wings,it flew off. Ron watched as Pig flew off and then descend the stairs of the tower, not being able to stand being in the Owlery much longer.
