David put his books away and grabbed his coat. He headed out of Ravenclaw and towards the lake.

David rolled out of bed a bit later than he had hoped. He took a quick shower and got dressed, heading out of the dorm.

Gavin walked into the boys dorm and walked to his bed and sat down on it. "What's up, Nyssa?" Gavin asked and his voice squeaked from his shaking body and his mind wandering of the worst possibilities.

Nyssa stood in front of him and took his hands. "I did something stupid while you were away," she admitted. The rest of story was fighting to stay hidden so she just took a deep breath and waited to see his reaction.

Gavin's face frowned and he leaned forward to take a closer look at Nyssa. His heart dropped and his stomach shot up and he held his hands together. "Wh-what?" Gavin asked, fearing what Nyssa did that was so stupid. He hoped that she broke a silly rule, or caught a cold and swam in the lake.

Nyssa took a deep breath. She decided just to get it over with. "I kissed Jake," she said quickly looking down at Gavin's knees.

Gavin's lip trembled. He did not know how to feel. His heart was broken, he was furious, he was upset. Gavin immediately looked away from Nyssa and turned his body around and punched his bed once with his left fist. He started to breath heavily and it hurt, his throat felt as if it would collapsed and tears started to stream down his face. "What the fuck were you thinking Nyssa?" Gavin turned around to look at Nyssa, his eyes were practically closed and his eye lashes almost stuck together because of his tears and his face was red from crying and anger. "How, why..." Gavin was at a loss for words, he fell to the side of his bed, "why would you do that?" he asked and buried his face in his pillow and started to sob. Like a baby, Gavin swung his legs around and kicked his bed and shook his head, "I can't believe you Nyssa!" he cried, feeling like he was about to die. Death was better than feeling the way of heart break and betrayal.

Nyssa jumped back when he punched the bed. "I... I... I don't know," Nyssa stammered tears starting to form in her eyes. "I don't know what I was thinking or if I was thinking." She backed up again bumping into the bed behind her. "I... I'm sorry," she mumbled. His anger scared her. She'd almost rather have him hit her than sit there in a non-violent fury.

"Nyssa I can't talk to you or look at you," Gavin said to Nyssa and looked the opposite of her, "I can't talk," he started to cough heavily and he curled into a ball. Gavin couldn't comprehend what was going through his mind. It was all a big jumble and swirl of confusion and hate towards Jake.

"Fine," Nyssa said shaking while silent tears ran down her face. "I... I understand." She stood there for another moment hoping he would look at her. After just a few seconds she knew it wasn't going to happen and she headed back down to the Common Room.

Gavin continued to cry and he held another pillow over his head to muffle the noise more. Gavin continued to cough and he almost suffocated himself. He brought his head up and gasped for air. 'What did I do that made her do that? Why would Nyssa do that?' The same thoughts ran through Gavin's head. He remembered the presents that Blake got him for his birthday. He got out of his bed and went to his trunk to search for the sleeping potion and drank half of it, hoping it would knock him out sooner or later. Gavin dragged back to his bed and laid face down, soon finding himself asleep.

Paul came up into the dorms and say Gavin face down with what appeared to be a sleeping potion. "Well something must have gone wrong up here," Paul muttered to himself, adjusting his glasses. He changed quickly and lied down to sleep, reading a little in bed.

David sat on his bed in the dorm, not wanting to be disturbed. He pulled out the candle he had gotten from the first task and held it in one hand as he lit it with his wand from the other. He waited...

David blew out the candle after receiving an owl. He would try again later. In the meantime, however, he needed to make it out of the common room without Gavin catching him. David cast a disilusionment charm on himself and headed out of the dorm.

David walked into the dormitory and quickly changed out of his clothes. He got into bed and quickly fell asleep.
