Charlotte walked back into the common room, still wearing her running clothes. She went upstairs to take a quick shower and change and then came back down to the common room to do a bit of writing.

Nyssa walked through the common room on her way to the Great Hall for breakfast.

Charlotte walked into the common room and sat down in a chair near the fireplace. She'd been at the school for four days now, and it wasn't proving to be too exciting, but it was better than where she'd come from. Charlotte took out her journal to write a quick note and then summoned a book, Camus, to read, curling her legs up underneath her and covering herself with a blanket. This was the first Friday night in a long time that Charlotte wasn't out doing anything. It was different, but a nice change.

David walked into the common room and saw a girl that he didn't recognize. He walked forward and sat down in one of the chairs and pulled out a slightly used "Cat's Cradle" by Vonnegut to read, and a quill and ink to write notes in the pages.

Charlotte looked up briefly at the boy who walked in and sat down. She recognized the cover of the book he was reading and quietly asked, "Vonnegut?" She wondered if he had heard her.

David looked up when he thought he heard the girl speak, assuming she said something along the lines of 'hello' he responded, "Hi," and nodded at her, before going back to his book.

Feeling awkward and thinking that she'd gotten the book wrong, she craned her neck to check the cover again. It was definitely 'Cat's Cradle.' She smiled lightly and said, "I love Kurt Vonnegut," a bit more clearly.

David definitely heard the girl speak this time. He closed his book, keeping his finger on the page so as not to lose his place. "Sorry?" he asked.

"I said 'I love Kurt Vonnegut,'" Charlotte said audibly, still smiling lightly.

David gave her a quizzical look, for it wasn't very often that he met someone in the wizarding world who read muggle books. He figured that she was muggle-born or half-blood.

Taking the boy's look as one of misunderstanding, Charlotte said, "You have great taste in books. Vonnegut is amazing." She laughed lightly.

"You like Kurt Vonnegut?" David asked, surprised, looking at her.

"Yeah. 'I want to stay as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center,'" she quoted one of her favorite things that Vonnegut said. "I love him." She continued smiling for a moment before saying, "I think I'm going to head up stairs. I'm Charlotte, by the way." With that, she left.

David watched in awe as the girl, Charlotte, left the room. "Holy shit." He was amazed and just wanted to see her again.

"I need to stop waking up late during weekends," Gavin groaned as he scratched his head as he walked down the stairs. He sat down on a chair and then stood up. He couldn't sit. His muscles hurt so he started to stretch.
