Effy walked into the common room with Gavin and sat down on one of the chairs. She was at a loss for words, and waited for him to say something.

Gavin walked into the common room and sat down on a chair. Once Effy walked in her looked at her, "so... meh, eh?" Gavin asked with a grin.

Effy sighed, "Yeah, I mean, I know we got off on the wrong foot, but you sort of...I don't know... intrigued me. For a bit I felt like I was in a constant competition with you to get the better grade, and I came to realize that you're really smart and fun to be around."

Gavin shrugged, "yeah, we did get off to a rough start, but after talking to you, you got pretty cool," Gavin said with a smile, "thank you," he said towards the compliment. "Although I am still hurt you find me less cool because I have not been in a fist fight."

Gavin had a straight face. "...want... him" he said blankly. He nodded slowly. "I don't think you would have a chance, honestly," Gavin said and coughed.

Gavin shook his head, "no.. I'm not," he said, imaigning himself with Malfoy. He quickly changed the subject. "So! The book club! Are you going tomorrow? I was the only Ravenclaw there last time."

Gavin frowned, "well, why not read it tonight or tomorrow? It's just a quick essay," he said, "that's how the Slytherin's get all their points. And besides, Draco will be there. He goes every time."
