"Er...well, you see Professor, I was having trouble figuring out what animal I'd become if I were an animagus. Can you only turn into animals smaller than yourself? And if we're quite average, would we have any special markings at all?" he asked as he chanced a glance over at his brother.

She saw the boys she had met yesterday walk in, but it seemed he was sneaking in after curfew so she didn't wave.

"A special marking does not necessarily mean it makes you special, it's meant to reflect a personal part of you may it be physical, like your hair color for example, or acquired, something you obtained and find close. So yes, you'd still have a special marking Mr. Weasley. As for turning into animals smaller than yourself- it is debated one may turn into an animal larger than themselves but it is just that, debated." Minerva crossed her arms and skimmed the essay from where she stood, "Is that all, Mr. Weasley?"

Fred nodded to show he was listening. As George was just now slowly ascending the stairs he kept going. "So my special marking could be ginger hair? Like, I could be a ginger haired bat or something?"

Minerva's lip curled in a very inconspicuous manner as she listened to the boy's radical idea of an animagus, "Yes, Mr. Weasley, you could be a ginger haired bat." What a strange notion but nonetheless, it was amusing.

Fred nodded, "Well," he asked, "do we have to have a special marking? Is it possible not to have any?"

"All registered animagi have special markings. It may be possible to be without but many speculate special markings in the fur, feathers, scales, are what separate animagi from animals in physical essence." Minerva adjusted her glasses very slightly as she continued to assist Fred.

Fred nodded, "Ok, thank you Professor. I think that's cleared everything up," he said with a grin.

"If that is all Mr. Weasley, goodnight." Minerva tiredly retreated from the common room and thanked the Fat Lady for staying. A prissy huff was heard but the Fat Lady gave the Head of House a polite 'you're welcome' then retreated from her portrait to make late night visits.

"Goodnight, Professor," replied Fred. He watched her leave and as soon as she was gone he ran up the stairs to the dormitory.

Jake had to wait several minutes for the Fat Lady to come back to be let into the common room. He went over to the nearest couch and let himself down, putting his feet up on the coffee table and closing his eyes.

Ron stirred awake after a little explosion he heard. He sat up and turned to see what it was. It was a boy who was messing up with something. He muttered a "Sorry" and Ron said that it was alright,he had sleep all day anyways. He stood up and left the common room.

Ron walked into the common room and flopped himself down on the couch. He went on to lay down and let his feet dangled over the side of the couch as he stared up on the ceiling.
