Harry soon found himself back to back with Malfoy. He waited for the professor to say something, not knowing what to say himself.

"No need for good evenings, Mr. Malfoy, don't try to act innocent," Burbage cooly said as she held her wand in front of her as she circled around the sitting boys. "I hope you don't have anything to say, Mr. Potter," the professor looked down at the Gryffindor, a shine on her glasses almost made a resemblance to Minerva for a moment. With her free hand Chairty took her glasses off and placed them in her pocket. "Care to explain this mess?" and before there could be any response, Charity quickly added, "and I don't want to hear 'we were practicing' as an excuse. There are designated areas for that."

Draco cleared his throat somewhat and sighed in a suffering manner, "I was trying to send Potter back to his common room because I was on patrol. We just... happened to get into a little skirmish." He turned his head and tried to glance back to the boy he was tied to though it was a bit difficult to.

Harry really had no excuse. He was out after curfew but, "Malfoy sent the first spell."

Draco scoffed, "You were reaching for your wand! It was self defense."

"I don't need any of your excuses at this time. You both know that magic is not allowed in the corridors or without supervision," Charity turned around and began circling the boys in the opposite direction. "Malfoy- wait until your father hears about what you done," Burbage looked down into Draco's eyes, "I will be talking to Snape about reconsidering a new male prefect. You should know better than to attack a student," she now re-circled and faced Harry. "I will be sending a letter to your guardian as well. You know plenty defense charms. You didn't have to attack him or curse him," Charity eyed the swelling on Draco's upper arm. She stopped walking and stood between both boys. "What punishment do you think you boys deserve?"

"Standing here next to him is punishment enough," Harry muttered under his breath.

"Excuse me?" Burbage bent over and cupped her ear with her hand. "Could you say that a little more loudly, Mr. Potter? I may be young but I'm not that young," she said as she turned to face him.

Draco heard Potter very clearly and mumbled back to him a quick 'likewise' then turned his head upward to look at Burbage with professionally veiled disgust. Damn muggle loving woman getting in the way where she did not have a place to, "I believe if you are going to inform my Father and my Head of House, the typical punishment would be a loss of points and a detention. But being a professor, I am sure you already knew that Ms." He smiled charmingly to her, the top row of his perfectly lined teeth revealed.

"I said standing next to him is punishment enough," Harry said, loudly and clearly.

Charity stood up straight to walk to Draco, "young man- even though you are not acting like one at this time- you do not need to tell me how to do my job," Charity put her wand back in her robes. "I don't need your smartness today, Mr. Malfoy." Charity's brows raised and a smile curled on her lips, "well thank you for your honest answer, Mr. Potter, but unfortunately that punishment is not reasonable. You two will be joining me in detention for the rest of the week. An hour before curfew, every night. Taking points away would be a waste for Gryffindors- who have been getting in trouble every day this week-" she looked at Harry with a disappointed look. "You two will be spending detention together. I will set up a series of ice breakers for you two and exercises so you two can work on your friendship."

Harry knew that talking back would only get him in more trouble now, so he just said, "fine."

Draco stifled his whimper of sheer agony. An hour every night with Harry bloody Potter. Three days of detention building a friendship with his arch enemy?! Was this woman bad?! Every Professor knew he and Potter did not mix well and made it a point to never put them near each other when moving students as they placed themselves a distance apart to begin with. Through gritted teeth he replied as politely as he could manage, "Very well, Madam." You stupid chit.

Burbage took out her wand and waved it, the robes knotting and disappearing. She put her wand back and smacked her hands together. "That is all for tonight. Shake hands you two and make way to your common rooms. Draco- please, no more patrolling tonight. I will take it from here," she said to the bleach blond boy before looking at the fifth years.

Harry turned around and made a face at thought of touching Malfoys hands. They were probably covered in hair gel, and who knows what else.
