Ron trudged himself into the Owlery,feeling utter disgusted by the smell and the condition of the room. He sighed and went over to the window. He decide to write his letter but then remembered Lily's letter. "Bolt? Are you here?" He called out,feeling rather silly. An owl hooted and flew over to him. "Oh. You're bolt?" He chuckled. He took out a treat for the bird. "Here,this is for you. Go give this to Lily's dad. Errr. I mean.. You know who right? Mr Bass." The owl hooted again and fly off through the window. He watched as the bird flew and went back on writing his letter.

Ron finished writing and fold his letter. He then called out for Errol who came flying clumsily. "Here,you bloody bird. Eat it first." He said as he gave out a treat for Errol. "Here. To the addressee. Make sure you get there and not to the wrong person,alright?" His owl hooted and flew off. He sat down for a little while on the ledge before deciding to get up and head off from the Owlery.

Nyssa came storming into the Owlry letting out a frustrated scream when she got to the window. She startled most of the birds who started squawking. "Oh shut it," she snapped at them and surprisingly most of them listened. Blodey flew down from her perch in the rafters to land on Nyssa's lap. She stroked the bird's head crying silently as she looked out the window.

Gavin recalled a conversation he and Nyssa had together. He knew Nyssa enjoyed the birds, it was no surprise, a free spirit like her who deserved to fly would love to be in the Owlery, which was a shame because it seemed to be a cage for her. After walking up the endless stairs, Gavin stopped in front of the entrance. "Her eye discourses; I will answer it but I am too bold, 'tis not to me she speaks," Gavin whispered as he stood in front of the entrance before walking into the owlery, "Nyssa," Gavin said breathlessly. "I-i," Gavin was at a loss of words.

"Nyssa, I deserve to know what happened, or why you kissed Jake, or what your relationship is," Gavin said, keeping his distance from Nyssa. He could feel his body getting weak. "You cheated on me, Nyssa. There is no forgiveness for that. But I can't stay quiet at you, believe it or not, you are on my mind all day," Gavin said, briefly looking at Nyssa. "You know that I deserve to know because it takes two to be in a relationship. I know that I have not been amazing, if you didn't want to be with me, you should have just told me!" Gavin started to cry, he found himself now sitting on the ground where bird shit was, which described his mood perfectly.

"I kissed him to shock him," Nyssa said still not turning to look at Gavin. "I care for you Gavin. I gave you 110% of my heart and it seemed like I was getting nothing back. Normally I can give without receiving but it was just draining me. Every time I tried..." she trailed off not able to finish her sentence because of tears that were causing her throat to clench.

"I understand that Nyssa but you should of just talked to me, let me kn ow, slap me in the face and inform me and I can make things better!" Gavin buried his face in his hands, "you didn't have to cheat on me!" Gavin slammed his hands down on the ground, "as for the time I was sick- I was going insane and I needed rest, I would never attack you or yell at you or anything, nor would I cheat on you!" Gavin sobbed. He never thought that anybody would cheat on him- such a terrible thing to do, there was no excuse for cheating. "Nyssa, I care about you. I practically could feel your presence when you were in the hospital with me," Gavin threw his head back. He could not think of the magic words to say. There was no magic to have Nyssa understand or make her forget. "But to shock him?" Gavin kept thinking back to the kiss, "Nyssa..." Gavin mumbled jumbled words around and he ran his fingers through his hair, "I never thought you would do that. You broke my heart."

Nyssa finally turned around. "And you broke mine every time you snapped at me or seemed ashamed when I tried to show you that I cared. I stuck around making excuses for you every time!" Her voice was shaking with tears now. "You would tell me you care but stopped showing it a while ago. You don't even sit next to me in the Common Room unless I move to be next to you. The whole house knows about us. The whole house doesn't understand why I 'put up' with you." She got up and walked over to him kneeling in front of where he was sitting. She grabbed his hands, tears still streaming down her face. "I'm sorry. I've said it before and I'll keep saying it. I'm sorry I've hurt you. I don't know what you want from me." She stood up again walking back towards her window but stopping part way there to turn back to him. "I don't know what you want to happen." Her tears doubled so she turned away from him again standing in front of the window stroking her owl's head again hoping it would calm her down.

Griffin came up to the owlery with a bored look on his face and stopped. He noticed a Ravenclaw student on the floor who he recognized as Gavin Dean. He stared for a second before noticing another Ravenclaw girl standing a few feet away and looked to be crying. "Um sorry ma'am just came to send a letter," he said to the girl as he pulled the parchment out and reread it quickly. He grabbed his owl and gave it the letter, hoping to get away from whatever was going on up here as quickly as possible. "Um do feel better," he said awkwardly to the crying girl before quickly moving to the exit of the tower.

"Nyssa," Gavin gasped for air, "I was on so many potions, so many side effects. Nyssa, anything of snapping back was not entirely me. I needed my space to clear my head and I was so irritable,"Gavin started to take deep breaths to calm down. "I don't care about the others when it comes to us, okay? The whole house hates me right now, okay? And Nyssa I love it when you sit next to me? Okay? I like the attention," Gavin slammed his head back against the wall trying to search for words. Why did he even want to be with her? She cheated on him! "I don't know either Nyssa. My heart is torn, I want the girl who cheated on me to be in my arms, I want to be with you Nyssa but augh!" Gavin broke down again and his hands started to shake. He brought his legs up to his chin and buried his face.

Nyssa sighed and walked over to Gavin. She crouched down in front of him running her fingers through his hair, "I can't make the decision here. I..." she sighed again and sat down next to him leaning against the wall. "I shouldn't have done it." By it she meant tell Gavin but she couldn't tell him that she didn't regret kissing Jake. As much trouble as it had caused it was worth it in her mind for many reasons.

Gavin started to calm down when Nyssa ran her fingers through his hair. Despite his wrecked state, the massage calmed his nerves. "Nyss... I don't think I can be with you. If you cheat on me once... you'll probably cheat on me again," Gavin said and turned to her, "and it kills me. Because I really want to be with you, but I don't think you want to be with me. And it sucks because I know I can give you everything!" Gavin exclaimed, "you know I can Nyssa," Gavin put a hand on the side of her arm, "Nyssa Pond, I'm so confused. The only thing I'm positive about right now is that I care for you and that your birthday is May 24 and I was going to bake you a cake," Gavin looked the other way. He was so confused with Nyssa. "As Shakespeare said, it is not in our stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves," Gavin looked directly at him, "I will make things work out, I will prove to you, I mean- that has to mean something," Gavin thought so at least, because he would imagine anybody who was cheated on would automatically leave the person. "But if we must part forever, Nyssa, please give me but one kind word to think upon to please myself with my hearts breaking," Gavin said, turning back to the girl he thought of once so highly.

Nyssa felt her heart break when he said this. "I never wanted that... I..." She resigned herself to the fact that they were done. She put one hand on the side of his head running her fingers through his hair. "I'm terrible with words so there is nothing I can say to convince you to forgive me and make this work. I've tried my best. I just can't..." She had one last thought. She placed her forehead against his. Her eyes were filled tears as she whispered. "I am so sorry," with that she kissed him gently and lightly hoping to express in that action all that she couldn't express in words.
