Jake nodded. "It's a shame you didn't have more fun. Have you seen that fairy of yours around lately? I wanted to thank her, I got extra marks for having her walk around my essay before I turned it in."

"Really? She's been around. Since her adventure out of the common room she has been a bit more adventurous so I haven't seen her in a couple of days."

"I thought since she enjoyed walking around in ink she'd like it and maybe stop throwing things at me. It worked!" Jake laughed.

"I'm sorry she was so rude," Nyssa said in an embarrassed tone. "At least she likes you though. She doesn't like most people."

Jake laughed loudly. "You don't have to apologize for a fairy, Nyssa. They like causing mischief and I don't mind at all, it's part of their charm I guess you would call it. I'm honored she likes me." He gave a mock bow and hit his head on the table.

"You ok, hun?" Nyssa asked biting her lip to keep herself from laughing. Poor Jake was incredibly accident prone, at least around her.

Jake sighed and rubbed his head. "Yep! Happens all the time. Is there a mark this time?"he asked looking at her for the answer.
(I actually just hit myself with my computer and there is a line across my now swollen lip. Good times)

"A bit of one," Nyssa said now a bit concerned. She got up and sat down next to him to get a closer look at his forehead. She froze some of the water at the table with a Freezing Charm and wrapped it in a napkin before pressing it to his forehead. "There you go. That should make it all better."

"I don't really need all of this," Jake protested. "It's a mark or a bump they come and go."

"Humor me," Nyssa said tilting her head to see him better.

"I don't want to. It's cold," Jake whined, continuing to hold it in place nonetheless.

"Oh shush," Nyssa said. Then she moved to sit on the table in front of him. "Fine," she said taking the ice from his forehead and kissing the spot where the ice had been to warm it up. "Better?" she asked with a hint of sass in her voice.

"Yes, much better." Jake smiled up at her. "Thanks, Nyssa. Whatever would I do without you?" Jake sassed her back.

"Drown in a lake or at the very least suffer from a great deal of concussions," Nyssa said patting him on the head. At that moment an owl arrived and landed next to her. She took the note and wrote a reply expressing her concerns. When the owl took off she leaned back across the table to put the letter with her notes before sitting back up again.

"So I owe you my life. Anything I can do to repay you," Jake said smirking. "Everything okay? I don't like it when you get those."
