Griffin nodded. "Yes, it can be a bother sometimes but I understand why. Just tell me when you're ready to go," he added with a smile.

Lydia nodded. "I play all the time when I'm at home. I sneak off and play with some of the boys nearby. They always say I've got a seeker's build since I'm thin and quick but I love playing keeper. Played beater before though too. I've knocked out my fair share of boys." She laughed. "Served them right though." She shook her head. "They always said I couldn't play as a Beater so I had to prove them wrong."

Freya didn't interrupt Draco and the Headmaster's conversation while they conversed. Vali just kept at his ham, seeming to have calmed down.
"You're going to try out for the quidditch team?" she asked Draco curiously, having finished her dinner roll already.

Amber nodded "I enjoy playing for fun with my brother and sister but I am so clumsy so I couldn't imagine playing for a team" she said laughing.

Blake finished his cake and dabbed his lips again, leaving the napkin neatly on the plate. He sipped the last of his tea and sighed contently. Late train rides didn't offer the lovely treats the initial ride to Hogwarts did, he had been quite hungry. "I'm finished here Mister Black. Should we leave now?"

Griffin nodded. "If you're ready then let's head out." He made his way with Blake back to the Slytherin Common Room.

Draco nodded, murmuring to Freya, "Of course. It is expected of me, and I have a certain fondness for the sport. Are you, Miss Coeus?"

"Oh I'd love it if I got chosen." Lydia looked to Griffin and Blake as they left. "Goodnight." She smiled. It felt as though the common room was going to be livening up a bit now that they were all getting acquainted.

"I'm sure you will" Amber said looking rather bored. She didn't want to go to the common room but she knew there wasn't much of anywhere to go late at night.

She looked up at the ceiling to see the floating candles drift slowly and pondered. "Possibly...," she answered unsure, "If I did, it'd be for a chaser position; I've never been that good on a broomstick, though."
Vali had finished his meal and once again left to explore more of the castle.

"I'm sure with more practice, you'd be graceful with a broom. All it takes is feeling like the broom is merely an extension of your body," Draco watched Vali wander off again, wondering where the cat went.

Lydia nodded. "I know Father'd come watch. He's always been proud of having a strong girl. Mother wishes I was more ladylike at times but I'm a bit of both. I suppose it all depends on who's captain."

"I'm sure Draco will be" Amber said taking a pinch off of her roll.

"Probably. He's the star Slytherin." She nodded. "Plus I've heard he's a fantastic player."

Draco's thoughts drifted to Pansy again. One word would not kill that girl. Just one. Her best friend worries, she should know that..
