"Meh," Gavin took another bite of ice cream. Nothing like vanilla and hotfudge. "So-uh, how's Jakey?" Gavin asked out of curiosity.

Nyssa looked at Gavin shocked that he would ask about Jake. "I don't know," she said with a sigh.

Gavin nearly joked on his ice cream. He wiped his face and looked at Nyssa, terribly confused. "Y-you don't know? Why? How I thought-"

"You ok?" Nyssa asked when he gagged on the ice cream ignoring his line of questions because she didn't know what he was trying to get at.

"Shocked?" Nyssa asked curiously rubbing his back to help distract him from nearly choking on ice cream.

"Yeah, I mean," Gavin stuffed his face with ice cream and talked with his mouth full, "you're gone all the time and I assume you are with Jake so it's weird hearing you don't know how he is."

"Last couple of days around Ravenclaw. Up in the dormitory mostly," Nyssa answered before nudging Gavin's arm. "Have you not checked the time recently?" she asked with an evil grin.
