Lydia stopped when she noticed a bird sitting on a branch. She stared at it for a moment before realizing it was merely a sparrow. She wandered a bit further, eyes alert.

David followed Theo, looking for spots of white on the dark forest floor.

Theo walked through the forest with David, scanning it with his eyes. "So you like Herbology?"

Lydia stopped once more. She pulled her book open and began to read over the pages. She smiled and began to take notes quickly. She wondered how she could get the others attention as she observed the Jabberknoll. She looked around before whistling a bit. The bird didn't seem to notice as she did so.

she picks through the bushes and trees as she searches, she has no clue if it's mating season or not, but if she finds any eggs she'll at least have a better chance of finding the targets. She uses some strands of her hair as well as a stick to create herself a bug net. She treads slowly and carefully to keep her steps quiet. She has a plan, she figures if she can capture one she can set it free and then follow it when it tries to hide. Give it some time to cool down and then she can simply sit and watch.

"Yeah, I guess," David said, "It's fairly easy for me, though, so that might be why I like it; I'm good at it."

Theo nodded as they continued their search. "That makes sense." He heard the whistling sound and looked around. "What was that?"

Lydia sighed as she sat there. She wasn't sure if anyone had heard her but she had to make sure not to scare off the bird. She took her notes as it began to move around. She wondered if she could lure it closer, tossing a few crumbs from a bit of roll she'd pocketed at dinner.

she lifts her head and looks around when Lydia whistles. Just as she intends to head for her something wizzes past her face, "Ah!" she exclaims, but the thing is too fast to catch. She hesitates a moment before deciding that it'd be easier to watch the bird the other found. She creeps her way over to the other girl and crouches down.

((I have to go, you all can just make up lines for me if you find it necessary. Good night))

"Hey." Lydia breathed lightly, watching the bird move closer. "He's pretty cute. I'd hate to hear him when he dies though. A scream of everything they've ever heard at once and backwards. Sounds pretty awful."

Theo looked around and decided to go back bringing David with him. He found Lydia and hunched down. "Was that you?" he whispered.

She nodded. "Yeah." She motioned to the nearby bird, now eating the breadcrumbs. "Found a Jabberknoll." She smiled and sat taking notes. "If we can get it close enough we can snag a few feathers. They're excellent in potions." She explained, shifting set her notes aside. She held out her hand, trying to coax it closer.

she whispers, "did you two find the flower yet?" she scribbles notes about the bird, it's shape and motions, how observing it makes her feel, "I have a net if you don't mind being a little rough with the poor thing" she picks up a dropped crumb and enlarges it to give them more to toss.

"You could immobilize it," he said quietly watching the bird. Theo shook his head. "Not yet."
