Emery gave a nervous chuckle to Nyssa, "Yeah, I'm fine ahah... I'm just not very good at potions, obviously." He looked at his cauldron which was bubbling up with something nasty.

Blake gave a startled gasp for the second time when it came to Emery, "EMERY WHAT DID YOU DO?!" He was thankful to every god or goddess, to Merlin, the ingredients used were not volatile with one another. But Blake took precaution and vanished the cauldron's contents with the essential spell that every potions enthusiast had to know, evanesco, when it began to bubble dreadfully and harshly against the cauldron's walls- not wanting to find them all covered in something that was amiss. He looked at Emery exasperated and began his cauldron from scratch, "We're going to do this together, and step by step, because I will not allow such a simple potion to be botched up by your mere frustrations with it all." He grabbed Emery's hand and directed it to a knife, "Chopping. Do it." Blake looked over to Fred and went near his cauldron, moving his hand to waft the scent to his nose. He covered his nostrils completely and tugged Fred back, "What did you do, Fred? You've turned it into a sleeping draught of sorts! Or a philter even, I can't distinguish it."

Emery mumbled as his glasses fell. He pushed them back up to the bridge of his nose and adjusted them accordingly. He carefully took the knife and began to chop a flobberworm carefully, in precise increments so as to please Blake. For a second year he's a pretty determined potions nut... he thought.

Fred laughed as Blake tugged him back. "I dunno. Emery showed me this trick. You've got to crush your flobberworms. Seems to make the potion happy. I tried it with the Wockes root, 'cept it kind of pulverized and I got this powder. I chopped what was left, but after I added all of that it started smelling funny."

Nyssa began to chuckle. She was amused by how Blake was reacting. Also Fred's potion had managed to put the fairy to sleep. She fell off of Nyssa's shoulder but thankfully Nyssa's reflexes were quick enough to catch the fairy before she fell too far.

Emery bit his lip and began to grow impatient. He took a rock while Blake wasn't looking and smashed the Flobberworm to bits. He whistled nonchalantly and moved to the next thing.

Fred looked up when he noticed a quick motion in his peripheral field of view. It appeared that the fairy that had been Nyssa had fallen off. She was now asleep in her hand. "Ooh, sorry 'bout that."
The way the fairy was affected by the potion intrigued him. Fred made a mental note of the mistakes he'd made. This brew could prove to be very useful...

Blake's jaw went ajar when he heard Fred's explanation of his change in the steps, "Fred, crushing the flobberworm was all fine and well because even in the uncrushed state, you'd be putting in it's solid and liquid forms- but crushing a root that was suppose to be chopped changed the physical properties and how it would reaction and mix with the other ingredients. The potion now absorbed the root in all at once instead of slowly- and there's no way to dilute it or save it now.. You'll have to start over I think- unless you'd like to try adding more solid root for any still floating powder to cling to it." He looked back to Emery and made a bit of a face at the disfigured flobberworm but let it slide, hearing from Fred that it had done well.

"Don't worry about it. She is just asleep." she said putting the fairy on a bed of leaves on the table as far from Fred's potion as possible.

"Thanks, Blake. I think I'll try adding some more." He looked over at the ingredients table and summoned another root. He chopped up the root, but added it piece by piece hoping the smell would stop. He couldn't cover his nose while he stirred and added the root, so as he went on, he started feeling aroused and very happy. He started wondering if he'd feel even better if he took a sip of the potion. It won't hurt. Just a small sip... he thought. Just as he was about to give in, the smell began to dissipate, after he'd added about half of the second root. He started to become more alert, but his arousal and happiness didn't fade with the odor.

Blake left Fred's side and stood by Emery, watching the boy like a hawk would its prey- with interest and attentive nature.

Lydia smiled at Theo and turned to give him a quick kiss before taking his hand. She looked back to a potion before noticing a bit of a pain on her arm. She looked to see why and blinked. "Oh no. I must have burned myself when my potion sputtered." She examined the red mark.

Theo looked at her arm and walked to his potions kit returning with a salve and rubbing it on her arm. "I''m going to have protect you from yourself from now on aren't I?"

Fred added the last of his ingredients and vanished some of the wood under his cauldron, in order to lower the temperature of it.

She blushed. "I'm not that clumsy. I thought I jumped back in time." She smiled. "Anyway, You think it's ready to be bottled?"
