She smiled. "I can't think of any." She laughed lightly before kissing him and curling up a bit closer. She smiled. "Mum said she's going to be visiting the day of the ball."

He put his arm around her again this time playing with the hem of her shirt, "I bet you were ecstatic when you found out."

"Oh absolutely." She chuckled lightly. "At least she'll do my hair for me." She smiled and shrugged. "She's usually good for that. And she wants to meet you. So long as she hasn't found out about your proposal it'll be okay."

He arched an eyebrow. "How would you know? How many times have you been formally courting someone?" His lips twitched with amusement.

"Theo when she thought James was interested in me she started asking me what sort of wedding I wanted." Lydia gave him a look. "And then next thing I knew his family was at dinner with mine and our mothers were planning my wedding dress. Then he told them he wasn't interested that way."

"August? Are you mad? If she has her way it'd be the end of the month." She laughed and curling closer and sighing lightly. "Mmm..." She nuzzled his neck warmly.

He chuckled. "Everything will be all right. I swear." He turned his head to kiss the top of her head. "I have another surprise planned. Does that make it better?"
