Hermione flinched and pulled away harshly and bit her lip as that made it feel even worse. "A little too rough. I meant put more on those areas, not rub it in harder. I'm sorry I should have been clearer." She put her hands back into his and blushed, "I was working on some ward work using fire as a base substance and it went a little awry. "

"Sorry! Sorry!" Ron said dismissively as he put his hands up in the air. "I'm sorry,I didn't meant to rub it that hard,Hermione." Slowly but carefully,Ron rubbed the area that was hurting and said,"Well,I thought you were always careful,Hermione. That only could happen to Seamus since he always blew things up." He said,chuckling.

"If you'd like," Nyssa said. Truthfully she wanted him by her side so she would know she wasn't alone throughout the night, however, she didn't want to pressure him into doing something uncomfortable for him.

Hermione shrugged and started to relax her tense shoulders once it was clear that he was unlikely to hurt her again. "Sometimes it takes more than being careful when dealing with fire." She silently cursed herself, "I over estimated my ability to control it."

Gavin nodded, "I would like," he said and laid down, his face facing Nyssa's. "I'll stay here the whole night," Gavin muttered to Nyssa as he used his arms for a pillow .

Ron laughed lightly and continued on rubbing her hand carefully. "There. All done. Feel better,now?" He asked as he looked at her. "You're the brightest student in Hogwarts,Hermione. I'm sure it was just a once accident. Fires,whoever knows when it'll burnt." He shrugged.

Nyssa shot him a brief affectionate smile before adjusting her pillow so they could share. "Thank you," she whispered and kissed him on the forehead. She knew him too well to try anything besides that. She wasn't sure if he ever wanted her to touch him again but she knew he would definitely not appreciate being kissed with other people in the room.

Hermione nodded, "It does feel better." She experimentally flexed her hands slightly and winced. "But I guess I shouldn't overdo it. " She picked up the cold compress awkwardly between her two hands without using her fingers. "Really, I should be thankful that a small burn like this."

"Here,come let me help you." Ron sighed and took the cold compress out of her hand and helped her damped it carefully into her hands. "Do you want to spend the night here?" He smirked at her. "I'm sure you don't. But you're lucky it's just a small burn instead of burning yourself up."

She really wanted to smack that smirk off his face, but she was pretty sure that it would hurt her hands. And everyone thought of her as insufferable. "Absolutely not. I would like to retain my dignity after this and an evening in the infirmary will not help that."

Nyssa smiled as she noticed that Gavin had fallen asleep. She waved goodnight to Ron, Harry and Hermione before laying her head back on the pillow. She closed her eyes and quickly fell asleep.

Ron laughed when he saw that Hermione was trying to suppress her anger at him. He saw Nyssa waving goodnight at him and he waved back as he looked over to see Gavin laying next to her but making a mental note to visit her tomorrow morning. He looked back to Hermione and smiled,"I thought so. You ready to go back,now?" He asked.

Hermione nodded, "Yes. I can't believe you forced me to come down here away. I could have made this salve myself." She once again braced and stood without the use of her hands.

Ron shook his head seeing to how stubborn Hermione was. "Come on,now. Well,at least you're feeling much better. I mean,your hands." He said as he helped Hermione. "Let's go back to the common room,now." He was ready to go,waiting for Hermione and Harry.
