Nyssa chuckled and closed her eyes with a sigh. She found his hand and held it gingerly. "Never said I wasn't odd."

Jake smiled and squeezed her hand. "Nyssa, stop giving me an out. I'm not going anywhere unless you tell me to bugger off." He tilted his head up to look at her.

Nyssa swallowed, a lump having formed in her throat. She made a small noise with no real meaning behind it. She moved her head from his to rest on her opposite shoulder.
