Sybill sat at the staff table and began to eat, but she was having some trouble with keeping the food on the fork...

"Hello Sybill." After sitting down next to her the headmaster smiled politely. "Are you enjoying you dinner?"

Sybil jumped. She wasn't expecting anyone to talk to her. She was a bit preoccupied.
"Oh, hello Headmaster. Yes, yes, it's very good, as always. Those house elves know how to cook."

"I quite agree." He helped himself to some pudding and nodded. "Has your lesson preparation gone well? Hopefully smoothly." The headmaster surveyed the great hall with a light sigh. "Oh to be young again.

Sybill blinked a few times. "Oh yes, I'm quite excited for classes tomorrow." She herself looked over at the Great Hall. "Yes, yes, to be young and in love." She sighed and tried to keep the carrot balanced on her fork.

"And I imagine it'll all be forgotten again tomorrow." He chuckled and offered Sybill a spoon. "Perhaps it would be easier with this?"

"Oh, thank you," said Sybill, grabbing the spoon. "You always have the most helpful ideas, Headmaster."

"It would seem so most times wouldn't it?" He chuckled and took another bite of his pudding.

There was a small silence between the two, then Sybill cleared her throat. "How are you doing with finding other Professors?"

"Oh all is well as usual." He smiled and nodded again. "And how are your students?"

"Pretty good so far," Sybill said. "I've gotten a pretty good response from the first assignment so far. They seem excited to start learning to open their Inner Eyes. I, of course, am only too happy to help them."

The headmaster nodded and smiled. "Well if anyone is capable of strengthening that quality of them then it is you, Sybill."

After a few more moments an owl swooped in over the heads of the students and landed, handing the headmaster a letter. He took it, staring at it with a serious look. "Hmm. You'll have have excuse me Sybill, enjoy the rest of your dinner." And with that he left.

Professor Snape strode into the Great Hall and made directly for the Staff Table. Passing the House Tables, he could see that dinner looked excellent.
Taking his seat, he filled his plate. He tried to tune out the incessant talking from the students -- he liked breakfast better, since less than half of the student body actually dragged themselves out of bed to go to it.
It was much quieter then.
